Let's get this over with.

I can live with a loss if young guys are all over the field. If older guys who have played a key role in so many debacles get most of the snaps that's a problem.

We better be in full-on 2021 mode.

Has the starter been announced yet?  I mean QB of course.   :naughty:

Per VN, someone named "Cheggers" has said JG is starting.

Two things about that.

1. He had arguably the best game of his career down there in 2018, and is definitely a streaky player. He may just surprise us pleasantly.
2. Assuming he is true to his more recent form, maybe we at least get to see Bailey take some meaningful snaps.

And yes, we bout to find out!

If you're keeping a running tally that could be quite interesting.

Nice start to the drive, we move the ball well, mis-sexecute a couple times then miss a long FG.

Its like this season in minurature.  :frown:

The waving the hand over our heads is the signal to NOT tackle the ball carrier

I'll take the result to this point.

That's what happens when you are playing quarters and the safety doesn't know it

Title: Re: Game Thread: Auburn

We are back to the UGA game where JG and Kennedy can't call the blitzes, AGAIN!  That is at least 3 times tonight already

Title: Re: Game Thread: Auburn

Also, it would be helpful if we could execute tackles! :banghead:

Looking all too familiar. Gus just now figuring out that we can't/won't throw downfield. They'll start stacking the box and shut us down from here on out.

Nice decision and throw JG!
Throw to a guy BEHIND the line to gain and too low to catch it :banghead: :wtf:

Why not just throw it on the last play? You're hoping for a jump ball. Just throw it.

I hate to criticize kids playing a game but I have doubts about JG's football sense.

Stupid Pruitt. Had 1:18 left and didn't even try!!!

Did call a time out to try and get something at the end, but I guess you are saying be more aggressive.  With JG.  Eh, maybe not.

Over/under for UT total offense in the 2nd half?

I'll go with 50 yards (and zero points, natch).

2 out of the last 3 weeks off and we still don't have a fizzleing clue how to cover the middle of the field! :banghead:

5 games ago, we had the longest active winning streak in CFB. Now we're about lose 5 in a row for the first time in program history. Not even Dooley or Butch managed to pull that off. :frown:

like I said before when asked "doesn't anyone in the SEC play defense anymore"? Answer. only the teams that play the Vols.

He would really pout if I was the coach. He would be done for the year. At this point you might as well see what Bailey can do.

TBH, I thought the look on his face said "Even I know I should be sitting".  Just an impression I had. Who knows if it's right or wrong, but that was what it made me think.

Did you see the total LACK of excitement when we scored?

Get a score as the end of the 1st half and score instead of the pick 6, and we lead.  Thanks, Jeremy.

You mean from JG? Or the team.  I wasn't watching.  I saw the TD but was on my phone for the celebration, or lack thereof.

It's hard to believe when you lose by 13 but one play lost the game. The pick 6 was a 14 point turn around. 7 we didn't get and 7  they got. Maddening.

Exactly, unbelievable

How many pick 6's does he have? Whatever the number is, tack another one on for the infamous 100 yard fumble recovery by bama.

Title: Re: Game Thread: Auburn
Post by: volsboy on November 22, 2020, 04:50:02 EST
Auburn plays Bama next. Did you hear them say Bama has scored 35+ points in 20 straight games. Will Bama extend that streak? Auburn didn't exactly smother us defensively.

I know right?  And even with that stupid play, if Cimaglia hits the chip shot, we are only down 7 and don't need to try an onside kick.  Unreal!

This is why I posted elsewhere that this was a winnable game.

Tonight's matchup was really a game between two teams who were both 2-4 coming into the game.  AU was gifted two games by SEC officiating.

If you dont know how to manage the clock in that situation, in YEAR 3, you are NOT head coach material.
