They told us they did not need UT fans to fill up their stadium the last time we were there! How does that work out for you? Ticket scalpers outside the stadium: 2 for 10 2 for 10. Person walking down street: You want me to pay to watch Vandy play? Scalper: No we will give you two tickets and $10 to go in and watch at least a quarter! Person: I would not watch Vandy for less than $30! Scalper: Here is $40 get a beer too!

I mean a LOT better. The play of the OL and DL has had a lot to do with it, as has the improved play of the defense overall. The OL has afforded the QB time - and also Maurer, if he is healthy, can make plays.
The truth is we played Bama toe-to-toe at Tuscaloosa. One play was the factor in it being 28-20 in the third or 35-13. Matt Jones wasn't looking that good. Who knows what happens had we scored.
Then we beat SCe 41-21 - a team that beat UGA and played UF tough.
If Alabummer does not get the bogus call with the "flagrant personal foul" called on Taylor when he sacked the QB then it might even had been 21 - 20 and a really tight game. That personal foul was a bs call from every stretch of the imagination and even the ESPN bummer homers called it bs as well. The holding call when Jennings runs down to the 1 when JG lost his helmet and then the personal foul were two of the most BS calls I have seen out of the SEC Bummer Homer refs. I almost asked several if it was because USC had just beaten UGA as well so that the SEC did not want Bummer getting a loss too.

Just MO but I'm thinking it's 50/50 we keep Bailey and if he goes elsewhere it might keep one we have from transferring.
BTW we had a big recruit from Bailey's school that was committed to us flip to LSU this morning.
From 247 Sports:
One of the highest-ranked prospects in Tennessee’s 2020 recruiting class has reopened his recruitment.
Four-star Class of 2020 defensive end/linebacker BJ Ojulari of Marietta (Ga.) High School decommitted from the Vols on Sunday, sources told GoVols247.
The 6-foot-3, 224-pound Ojulari, who’s the younger brother of Georgia outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari, had been committed to Tennessee since Aug. 16. He chose the Vols over Auburn, Georgia and LSU at the time.
The Vols are left with 16 known commitments for the 2020 class.
He’s a teammate of four-star Tennessee quarterback commitment Harrison Bailey. But another of his teammates, five-star athlete Arik Gilbert, announced his commitment to LSU on Wednesday, choosing the Tigers over Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Texas A&M.
LSU was scheduled to host Ojulari on an official visit this weekend, but his flight to Louisiana was canceled.
Ojulari is ranked the No: 139 overall prospect and No. 9 weakside defensive end in the 2020 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
If you read the story on some other sources Ojulari said he favored LSU before he made the pledge to UT so this one was basically not even a real commitment from this kid. Some of these players think that everybody is going to kiss their butts and all, but seriously I think it is time we tell them, ok so you don't want to come to UT, fine with us. Lets get players that really want to be here.

It may very well have been a legal hit. I've watched it several times and it's hard to tell, but it does seem to be a hit to the shoulders. I think the bigger issue is the defenseless player issue but would it have been enough to flag? I'll be the first to admit that I don't fully understand the targeting rules. Still, though, my bigger issue is with the inconsistencies that the targeting rule has created when it comes to the issue of player safety. I'm honestly sick to death of seeing players ejected for clean plays where they weren't trying to make bone-crushing hits but were just trying to make stops. Now that it's effecting us more (3 ejections the last 3 games) it just hits home a little more. That play by Middleton was what we would've used to refer to as almost perfect form. Now it's an ejection.
Something that is not being discussed within this play is the actual targeting that went on when the SC player basically drove the top of his helmet into the middle of JG's chest (which by definition is targeting by the "leading with the crown of the helmet"). I for one don't want players to be injured on either team wearing orange or the opponents, but it does seem like we are getting to be playing "patty finger football" in that if a player in an attempt to make a play is attempting to tackle an opponent and the player being tackled responds with a lowering of the headgear in an attempt to minimize the contact that the tackler is being flagged for targeting (see Bituli tackle at the 2 on the Alabama player that he was ejected for). I also think we have some officials in the SEC that are not ready for the scrutiny as well. I noticed in watching the game that they missed several blatant holds on the TD right before the half by SC. I also noticed that there were several instances that the blatant holds in the passing game. Seems like the adherence to the rules is for the Bamas and UGAs in the conference and if you are not in the top 2 then katie bar the door. (See LSU/Auburn as well)

Blowing them out won't prove anything, but if we struggle it might be a bad sign.
One thing I am looking for is not allowing their D in our back field. Even against Charleston last year we gave up 9 tackles for loss. Interesting to see if our OL can keep that number low against a team like uga state. If they don't, could be a long season.
HA HA HA if this program ever achieves what we had under Fulmer I will be dead in my grave because it is obvious this program is NOW the Vandy of the 1980s. Firing Fulmer was the biggest mistake this program ever made. We are reaping what we sowed in firing Fulmer just like Bama did for the years proceeding Saban!

end of October
Cool well we decided to let our tickets lapse since the powers that be up in Cesspool by the Potomac decided to take away the benefits of contributing to the school of your choice to support student athletes and removed all of the incentives to giving the schools the money to help support athletics. So we decided to keep our money and drop our tickets and just watch from the house and enjoy a good drink while not having to spend eight hours a gameday at the stadium.

But Perry got his friend off - In one scene Hamilton mutters"oh shut up!" The cast got along well - I swear some of the ending scenes were ad-libed , Like Trag saying "He missed by ][ much"
Funny thing about Mason is if you watch the intros Trag is still in the credits at the opening of the show even after he was not on the show and a new actor was functioning in his place until the very last season. I always wondered if that was due to some contractual agreement or not.

I have a DVD of every TV episode of Perry Mason We have each and every season on DVD of Perry Mason. Mason actually lost one of the trials in the case but eventually he reversed the Decision. Go Back and Watch the Episode "The Deadly Verdict" and you will see Perry lose a case, but then he keeps fighting and eventually the defendant is exonerated of the crime. Now that is a LAWYER!

psst, I think HTV is Clinger ... I am going to plead the Fifth on that conversation One show that I always thought went out really great (and yes I have only seen this on video) is Perry Mason. The show ended and it was just like they were preparing for another case.

Saying Travis call was a charge is total bullshizzle! Travis was outside the circle was moving and he did his best Penny Hardaway flop impression! The PJ Washington call should have been Washington with an F1 and Walker shooting throws because watching the replay Washington initiated the hook on Walker!

Westbrook took over for the LVs the 2nd half......That win will get them in the tourney. Now they face Miss State tomorrow.
Actually depending on what happens in the ACC tournament the Lady Vols project as last four out on some of the projections. Frankly I would basically say "miss the tourney so getting Holly to resign is a fait accompli"

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Will Wade may be in Hot water
|
on: March 01, 2019, 02:50:51 EST

The NCAA is requesting transcripts of Wade discussing a recruit with some of the shady Nike executives that were being bribed to get recruits to attend certain universities and Will Wade is front and center in one of the transcripts and that could be a real problem in that the NCAA would have iron clad proof since it was already part of the trial that is getting ready to sentence some of the co conspirators in the case in Federal Court. Sounds like ole Wade may be "show caused" if the NCAA really pursues the investigation.

I think my favorites are the two dudes in the lower right corner in their "come at me bro" poses. Don't really think they'd want #2 or #5 to take them up on that. Ummm I would not want to meet Admiral and Grant in a dimly lit hallway much less a brightly lit one! Admiral and Grant are definitely CUT!!!
