Sports / VTTW Message Board / The goal tending rule is

the worst rule in college basketball. If you are going to review it, it needs you be an immediate review. A team can block it out of bounds or you could get the rebound and you lose two points and possession. It?s totally idiotic! Why did the coaches ever agree to that rule?

IMO, AU was the only team that could've challenged UConn in that region. So they just got a free pass to the Final Four. Of course, I'm only ahead of one guy in the pick'em, and he forgot to fill out a bracket. So what do I know? Hang in there, BDV. You will be ahead of me soon enough.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Apparently, there is no rule against WALKING anymore

So much of it is arbitrary now. I hate it. The charge call has now become another to add to the list. DJ literally forcibly backs folks up 2 or 3 feet at a time by knocking them off their spot, yet a defender cannot even make glancing contact on an offensive player. The game has become completely about offense. As a former coach, I also hate the replay rule inside of 2 minutes of each half. You teach kids that every play matters, yet with this rule it seems that the plays at the end matter much more. If they miss a call with 2:01 left in the half, it isn?t important enough to review. I would much prefer that they give a coach 2 replay reviews per half than to keep what they now use. I could go on, but I will get off my soapbox now. Sorry for the rant.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Anybody notice how much we switched with our bigs up high last night

Very unusual We were not worried about their bigs at all and used our bigs to stop their guards on the perimeter Once our guard recovered off the screen then the big would find his man in the lane Did it time after time, with all 3 bigs Very, very effective, especialy against Washington and frustrated the hell out of Reid (who let his big mouth write checks that his limited ability couldn't cash and ended up with two (2) Ts and the resulting ejection - then was one of the 2 players that met with the media post game) Bottom line is they had never faced a physical defense like we suffocated them with last night Yes. It was pretty obvious to me that we were not really too concerned about their offensive ability very much.
