Anyone on here had any success with rooting of their phone? I'm not really considering it strongly, I'm just curious if anyone has done it and if so what their thoughts on it were?

The Juice Defender app is next level.
I tried it for a couple of days and I don't think I use my phone in a manner that you get much benefit from an app like this. I didn't really see that much improvement in battery life, but again, I think it is because of my usage pattern not really a problem with the app. Have you seen a lot of improvement?

It's a great phone but the battery life makes it hollow for me. I burned through two batteries at the river Saturday and it was dead Sunday morning... My wife's iPhone stayed alive through the night on one charge.
Yes, the battery is subpar, but for me, the other features, out weigh this. I can see how for some people, it just isn't an option because of its horrendous battery life. Are you thinking of moving on to another phone?

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Volver on anyone else (stupid question regarding my Nexus)

Hello everyone,
I recently made the leap from a Blackberry to a Galaxy Nexus and let's just say I am quite thrilled. It is an amazing device and I am ecstatic about it.
I do have one question, however. Revolver had mentioned previously that this phone's battery isn't great and that, unfortunately, that is the case. I upgraded to the extended battery which has helped some. I remember Revolver saying that the 4g is a battery hog so I have a question about that. I am on Wi-Fi 99% of the day (at work and home). My stupid question is: if I am on Wi-Fi does my having 4g on hurt my battery life?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

well he finds new ways to please palates of course. Tonight I am attending the Alton Brown International Biscuitfest Appearance and my SO was kind enough to purchase the dad blamed VIP Gold Circle tickets that includes a champagne reception for Mr Brown after the show. So therefore I am hoping to get the chance to meet Mr Brown somewhat briefly since I am a biscuitfest competitor the last two years (not entering this year due to a trip to Dayton OH). I will hope to get a picture with Mr Brown to wow and amaze you (OR NOT)...... I work for Scripps and I was able to meet Alton once. It was great. I love Good Eats and so it was a great privilege to meet him.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Suggestions needed

Hello everyone,
My family and I are going to the beach in June and we are having a bit of an issue with one thing. I'm the past we have used a very small beach umbrella for shade, but it simply isn't large enough to provide shade for the family anymore. We now have a large family of about 10 or so and need something larger to provide more shade. Does anyone have any suggestions for canopy that they've used on the beach? It would need to be fairly large and also not blow away in the wind. Any suggestions you can give would be most helpful.
Thank you.

I don't know if any of you all are familiar with the Trials series on XBLA, but they put out a new one today and it is even better than the first. Trials is a platformer of sorts that uses a sophisticated physics engine to help you get this motorcycle rider through a daunting series of obstacles. The original game, Trials HD, is my favorite game I've ever played for the Xbox, XBLA or standard game. The new one, Trials Evolution, takes the core game play of the first one and enhances nearly ever part of it.
One small caveat, however. I am apparently sort of a game masochist because I really like challenging and frustrating games. I don't know if any of you all have played the Skate series, but I loved it and it is difficult in that game to ollie let alone pull crazy tricks like in the Tony Hawk series. There is a gentle learning curve in this Trials game, but it gets hard quickly and just completing boards is a real challenge.
I recommend to anyone to at least check out some game play footage and see what you think.

My work has recently switched from Blackberries to Android/iPhone and it has been great. My boss has the Razor and five other people I know have the Nexus. The Nexus is just a remarkable piece of technology. Everyone I know that has it loves it, but, of course, when you are going from a Blackberry anything seems great.

One of the best predictors of the NCAA at-large teams is Jay Coleman's Dance Card ( http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm). This was before LSU, which probably slid us up a few notches, but Coleman has us 20 spots below the bubble with a 0% chance of a bid. Now that is as of today and doesn't look at the rest of the potential games, so it's not like we are stuck there . . . but even a win over Vandy is not going to get us up around that bubble line. Two wins will not rocket us up 20 spots. So yeah . . . I totally agree. Two wins in the SECT will put us in bubble territory. Anything short of that and we're probably an NIT lock. He has actually updated his numbers and we are now 14 below the bubble. Also, our likelihood of making the tournament has gone up to an astounding .01%. A win against Vandy could get us into the 10s below, but we still need something major to happen in the SECT.
