I think the turning point was the UCLA game earlier that year.
That was a big game also, but we were out-classed by bammer with Henton as QB, but when Kelly came in we played much better. And it was up and out from there on...

Note on the OL...mobile QB can make the worst OL look good. Still, I think they have in fact played better the last two games. All players respond to leadership. I will never forget seeing Peyton come in for Helton vs uga in 1994...there was an immediate sense of urgency and focus breaking the huddle, while with Helton in they kind of wandered up to the line like it was no big deal. Players do indeed key off the QB....

Yep. I think that shows where we are as a program. It shows a total lack of respect for them to go on 4th and 1 from their own 39.
I suppose you could also assume that it shows confidence in your own abilities, but if there were any fear of consequences then you most likely punt that football.
Given how often they went for it on 4th down regardless of field position against AU last week ( I think 4-5 times), I think it shows that the OBC just doesn't give a shizzle about this season anymore and is opening it up.

I was at the 1989 game at bammer when Andy Kelley came in for Sterling Henton. We lost big, but it was a turning point for our program. We won or tied like 10-12 in a row from that point, and that 1989 season was really the beginning of our rise to national prominence in the 90s. Just saying we might indeed point back to bammer 2014 (and this game) as a turning point.

Exactly! Since it was reported to ALL concerned, exactly who the hell were we supposed to "report it" to?
It is pure bullshizzle
The timing of the article is BS. At the same time Lane did apparently do something that showed a lack of judgement, though it obviously wasn't illegal. Seriously, what was a HS girl doing in his room to begin with? Just sayin.

No, just the Tennesseean attempting to act lie the scandlesheets, as opposed to actually practicing journalism. Nothing to see here, at all. Pure, unadulterated Bravo Sierra
I wouldn't call it BS if the attorney general considered prosecuting it. I would say it's over as it happened a year ago.

Unadjusted prediction is chikenz 31 Vols 27, but I think Dobbs adds a TD so I will predict Vols 34 chikenz 31 Turnovers as usual can skew this...so here is hoping the Vols lead in that category.

Sure. Beggars can't be choosers. But if I'm going to the game (and I might, depending on where it is), I'd much rather go to Nashville, Houston, or Charlotte. Heck, even Shreveport or Memphis would be better- at least they have casinos nearby. I stopped at the casinos in Shreveport both going to and returning from the Dallas game. I can tell you they are nice. Made some money too....

To be honest, if this game were in Knoxville, I'd feel really confident. I think it's a good matchup for us. But this team hasn't won a roadgame against anyone with a pulse in...how long? Seven years? More? Unless you count the neutral site win against NC State, which might even have been ranked at the time. Thing is...does USC jr have a pulse? I'm not sure....
