Summer semester classes don't count I guess....  Spring and Summer would be 2

That's a good point that was asked on another site. I wonder if he went to Summer school? If not why not if it counts?

I think it has to go through the NCAA first.....and probably why the NCAA punted it to the SEC pretty quick knowing the SEC would not approve it. Not sure...but I wonder if Pruitt and Fulmer didn't know about the SEC transfer rule?

Just 2 years ago did the SEC approve 'Grad' transfers to transfer between conference schools and be able to play without sitting out a season....Prior to June 2018 even grad transfers had to sit out 1 season. The rule change allowed Kennedy (from Bama) to play from the get go.

Jack Nicklaus has said many times the fix is with the ball and he's been harping to the powers that be for years and so far deaf ears.

Not hard to gain 35-40 pounds when you are taking in 5-6,000 calories per day.

11  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Oh hey, SEC Nation premiers this morning! on: September 20, 2020, 07:07:37 EDT
I forgot there was football until around noon Central

But I was almost right.  Of the early games, the best match up was Georgia Tech vs UCF, very solidly in the "meh" category.   I did catch the end of the Navy game, nice comeback for them, especially after what happened to them last week.

Navy was down 24-0 at the half. The biggest comeback in the 2nd half in Navy football history.
12  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: SEC announced policy for canceled and rescheduled games on: September 20, 2020, 07:05:47 EDT
Bowl games are a go. Don't now if there will be all 70 of them but the bigger ones are a go.
13  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Austin Pope has back surgery and Emmit Gooden arrested on: September 20, 2020, 05:12:01 EDT
Gooden would have helped....Hopefully Pruitt's comments on the DL play is A) coach speak or B) our OL is really good.
14  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The Gamecocks starting QB will be.............. on: September 18, 2020, 01:27:39 EDT
With no Spring practice and limited Camp it probably makes sense due to the transfer OQ knowing Bobo's system.
15  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Cade Mays APPROVEd by the NCAA! However ... on: September 18, 2020, 01:25:56 EDT
The SEC approval will be the interesting part.

I could be way wrong, but I gave a feeling about JG this year.

Me too....That's why I got a whole case of Tums last week.

20  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: 'Clinical judgments' key in college football contact tracing' on: September 11, 2020, 07:16:13 EDT
We’re at a big disadvantage here compared to our opponents. Local contact tracing regs mean that huge chunks of our roster are unable to practice or play for two weeks at a time, even if they repeatedly test negative and are completely healthy. Unless something is immediately done to level the playing field, we can probably just go ahead and write this season off. We all saw in the BYU/Navy game what it looks like when a team that has practiced full speed goes up against a team that hasn’t.

Yep....You can bet your a$$ that Bama and UGA and some others are not playing by the same rules. Pretty much if you read between the lines when Pruitt said in his presser yesterday that the rules are different from state to state.

And you are right...I've followed Navy for 50 years at least being a old Navy vet....That's the worse I've ever seen a Navy team look from start to finish. It looked like a D1 team playing a middle pack NAIA team.
21  Sports / VTTW Message Board / 'Clinical judgments' key in college football contact tracing' on: September 11, 2020, 06:39:00 EDT

Ultimately, it's a “clinical judgment," said Dr. Chris Klenck, team physician at Tennessee.

Differences in who makes those judgments and how could loom large over this season.

“It’s important to us that we all have a level playing field and that we’re all following the same protocols and procedures so that the perception that one team has an unfair advantage is minimized and that we’re all doing the same protocols and the same health and safety standards for all of our student-athletes,” Klenck told AP before Pruitt revealed the Volunteers' predicament.
22  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Pruitt presser on: September 11, 2020, 02:23:44 EDT
Mostly same o same o....Sloppy...don't take care of the ball...need more reps...probably won't get the allowed 25 days of practice in due to so many being out....have to practice the guys day to day with what you got....Most contact tracing has come from roommates....Was asked who would be the head coach if he (Pruitt) had to be out due to Covid or contact tracing.....Pruitt said...Well Chaney has the best record as any UT coach at 1-0...so Chaney will protect that record for years to come. So Tee is the asst head coach so it would me Tee.

One question was interesting....Do you think it would be good if the SEC office issued a uniform contact tracing guideline for all to follow? Pruitt...I'm no expert, but I think the the contact tracing rule is different from state to state. (Which I took as....we screwed.)
