I waited a good 2 minutes after the game ended to make sure the game ended. With Swamp Donkey's luck I wouldn't have been shocked if Florida won it 30 seconds after the game ended.

You can take all the wine I've had in my 63 years and it wouldn't fill up a gallon milk jug.....but my wife drinks it like water. She found a red made by Redwood Creek for about $12.00 that she really likes...and the $12.00 is what I like

Good win. Over the last 30 years Texas....OU and UGA have done less with more than any teams in the country. JMO.
Got a feeling UGA is about to change.....They play pissed off which they didn't do under Mark Richt and Smart has taken their recruiting up another level.

I use to hate open dates and there was a time we had 2 open dates during the season and I was lost because I didn't have the VOLS to watch. Now I wish we had 12 of them.

Well...he did have a bruise which I thought was unusual for a football player but I didn't ask questions....Reports of his demise was greatly exaggerated. And whether there was a fight I don't have a clue because again....I didn't ask and no information was offered. I coached for many years and tempers flare all the time and it really does when things aren't going well. I even saw a post on another site this morning that TS would be out several games because of it. I'd say he could play today if there was a game.

Just looking at the way the team has played the last two games, I would say that Butch and the coaches have already lost a majority of the players. By lost, I mean the players are tuning them out and ignoring what they say. Slogans will only get you so far until the players realize you are incapable. Seven more games this year will not prove anything. With his track record over the last 4+ years, is there anyone here that actually truly believes he can succeed in SEC? Being a good recruiter is OK, but surrounding yourself with Yes Men that fail to improve a player's skill set is a recipe for getting a bunch of people fired. I hope Butch has saved money and invested well. Looks like he will be unemployed sooner than later.
I guess is Currie pulls the plug at end of October if he loses the next 3 games, which is likely unless the team rallies. They look totally mismatched and unprepared again this year. That is all the responsibility of the head coach. Butch has no one but himself to blame.
Agree^......We didn't look like a football team against UGA...Not even close to one.

I am not to keen on Kelly either. I saw the talent he squandered at Philly. He had a lot of talent on his Philly team. Plus he doesn't put enough into the defensive side of the ball. Is he a better coach than Jones? Yes. His teams at Oregon always had trouble when they faced physical teams. The SEC is usually full of physical teams. If he made the Vols a finesse team like Oregon, the physical teams in the SEC would be tough matchups. Not that they aren't anyway. So who do you hire? All the coaches that have won NC's are either employed at places they ain't leaving or are too old to get back into coaching. So who is the "next big thing" coach you gamble on? Vols either need to go big or go home. If they don't go big, they just hire another Jones type coach. Which leaves us where we are now.
You are correct.....When Oregon played teams with physical front 7's they got beat....When they played defenses that controlled the LOS they lost. In the SEC you face those defenses almost weekly.

Apples to oranges, IMO. I'm not saying Tennessee is going after Chip Kelly. In fact, I think there are a few Knoxville media types who are going to look really stupid when this is all said and done because they've sold out on Kelly. But if Tennessee wants to pursue Kelly, his show-cause is no reason to change anyone's mind. It was the weakest show-cause in NCAA history. So weak that it would've probably never been handed down if Kelly hadn't already left for the NFL. The NCAA COI wanted to make an example out of a big-name coach and Kelly was the perfect scapegoat because he had left for the NFL. Which probably also explains why Kelly's show-cause was so unusually short (18 months).
Missing the point....We canned our best BB coach who took us places we've never been in BB.....Not going to hire someone who had a show cause when we didn't support Pearl. The powers that be will not do that. I could care less if we hired a crook as long as they win because schools that are committed to winning big don't care either. But Kelly isn't going to get a sniff except what the media makes it out to be just like Gruden. As soon as Butch is canned it's going to be in the media and message boards....Gruden....Kelly...Gruden....Kelly rinse and repeat.

We booted Pearl out of Knoxville because of a show cause.....We aren't going to hire Kelly who left Oregon toting a show cause. Not going to happen.

A vote of confidence would be the same as telling the public the coach has been fired. IMO Currie has already formed a team to look at future coaches and will be contacting agents to gauge interests. But if I were Butch, I would make Currie fire me to get the money. Butch's ego will not allow him to admit failure so his firing is inevitable.
^Truth spoken...or posted Butch is the smartest man in the room....just ask him. He and his system in 'Infallible'......again, just ask him. Nice guy...talked to him for 2 hours back in December. Kind of guy you like to sit down and have a beer with...but just over his head on this level. I see no way he's the coach at UT after this season. And will not be shocked if he's gone before the season is over.

Ouch is right....
Butch Jones walked into the Marriott ballroom and took his seat at the head table and it felt vaguely sad.
“Any other time, when the Tennessee coach would be here, there would be hundreds of people,” said Jim Reedy, a Tennessee fan. “And when he walked into the room, everyone would stand to applaud.”
There were not hundreds of people.
Nobody stood to applaud.
The plates of chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans may as well have been a last meal.
“I needed a little love so I thought I’d come to West Tennessee,” said Jones.
He was shut out, again.
