I?ve been saying for weeks that this will be one of the most chaotic tourneys ever. But I just filled out my bracket, and it looks awfully chalky. 

Yea, mine is basic chalk. I do pick upsets on the 8/9 games. And I picked against the danged tiglets in their first game. 

If they win a couple, my bracket is toast.

There is a new entry in the #1 seed sweepstakes. The talking head on ESPN just said that Iowa State should be a #1 seed. That would shake up things.

But their conference is trash. A win over Duke is really all that could've helped them, and they didn't get to play them. A loss to an MSU team that was already a tourney team anyway, even if it came early, is still less damaging than a title game loss to NCSU, who was well outside the bubble.

I agree with you. But you know how this works. The royalty gets the benefit of the doubt. And all of the expert bracket predictors are saying "UNC".

Back in my day, the saying was, "You can't fight the system."

I thought it was far-fetched when I posted it- but now that I look at things a little more closely, I think it's a real possibility. Lunardi had us as the #5 overall and UNC at #4 before their game tipped off. And they just lost. Sooooooooo?

Well, I'll back you on this, since it doesn't cost me anything, but unfortunately, UNC went to the finals of their conference tournament and we went out in our first game. And they beat us this year.

But I won't pass on the #1 seed even if seems unearned.

Not according to Jay Bilas, who's calling the game.

And we all know that he is the all-knowing, all-seeing guru of college basketball. 

Base running is not their strong point.

Beam should have warmed up longer. He's been great since he gave up 6 runs. Of course, they all weren't his fault.

BaseVols beat Bama 11-3. 17 game win streak. 2nd longest in Vol history and longest active streak in NCAA baseball. I assume that's Division I but it could be overall as far as I know.

Lady Vols softball beat Missouri 9-0. Run ruled in 5 innings.

I agree, but the troll was talking about the regular season championship.  That absolutely means something, particularly when its not a tie.

I know. My point was that the regular season championship meant the most and the tourney means little comparatively. I could have been more clear.

Actually, unless you need to win the conference tournament to get into the NCAA's, the conference tournament means practically nothing.

As I've said before, do away with it.

It was terribly lucky, but you do not leave anyone uncontested in that situation. The lack of awareness on that defensive possession is really amazing.

Yea, someone should have run out there and fouled her before she even caught the ball. Letting anyone be that open is unacceptable.

I had to go to a couples baby shower for the daughter of a good friend of mine. If I ever find the woman that invented the couples baby shower, I will harm her.

I had to follow the scores on my phone.

I figured that the men might be flat and lose. And Kentucky had been getting better the last few games.

As for the Lady Vols, based on the two previous meetings, I thought that they could keep it respectable but never imagined they would have a chance to win at the end. But when they missed the free throws and SC got the ball back, I told a friend of mine that SC would hit a three pointer at the buzzer to win it. And sure enough, it happened.

I do now have more confidence in the Lady Vols going into the NCAA tournament.
