So things are sliding back to normal. I knew it would happen, I just thought we might make it to NSD. Oh, well... it was fun while it lasted.

Well, just another reminder that no matter the circumstances you can never trust a slimy croc.  They just can't change their scales.

Less than two weeks ago, one of their current commits was called "pussy", "drama queen", "attention whore", and "a perfect fit for FSU" on that board.  And they want to pull stuff WE said out of context?

"THE VS'ers"?  Painting with a bit of a broad brush there aren't you?  But it's another example of one of those "message board" things - we tend to underweight (to the point of ignoring) those that we agree with while giving undue weight to those we don't.  The Lounge is a very good example of this dynamic at work.

DJ, I painted with a broad brush intentionally, not because I mean it but because of my exchange with Wize.

File that one in the "oh well" category.  Caring about what they think has never been high on my priority list anyway.

There are some good posters over there though. I don't sense a huge amount of hostility towards us.

I'll say something else too...as big a douche as Kiffin is, we played UF a good game and nearly beat bammer.  For all the sympathy and support for DD coming from my bammer friends....I suspect some of them are a bit relieved also.   They DID luck out this year.

Maybe DD can become their new most hated coach, but for the right reasons.

I disagree. Many on the VS have enjoyed the renewed interaction. Some haven't. Far from a consensus

and of course the usual parrots squawking their broad brushed agreement.  The VS is made up of a couple of hundred (active) posters.  You know better.

I can only speak for myself, but my original generalization was done on purpose because of the conversation that Wize and I had just had on the VS. I stated that to DJ.

It is funny that it would bother you that people generalize opinions of the entire VS when the VS is just as guilty of doing the same (as is every board). I'll be sure to point out the generalizations to you from now on as I see them. It is funny that you think you have the ability to come here and call people "parrots". If I posted the same on the VS my post would be immediately deleted as a name-call.

Of course, if this little exchange causes board relations to slide, that will be all the fault of UT fans, won't it?  With our 100 or so active posters, 4-6 of which have posted in this thread?

And there is part of the problem. I can not recall who probably because I did not respond to it, but some poster over there before kiffin left called our hostess or hostesses a whore(s). I forget the exact wording but that was the jist of it. If it was deleted I don't remember it disappearing.

Let me be perfectly clear... I am not a fan of people criticizing moderation styles on other boards. It is hard to run a board.

Mud was out of line in the way he presented his post, and I'm not afraid to say that, but let's let the criticism of the way the VS run lie. If you are worried about it, take it up with Mud offline, or take it up over there.

The VTTW has there own hostesses?!?! What are they doing wrong if you only have 100 active members? Send them down to Archer, Florida and have them recruit me

I apologize for the Parrot comment, that was inappropriate (I should have referred to Lyn by name....just a little joke!!!!!!).  And FLVOL...I wasn't coming here trying to "police" anything.  I was just surprised at ReVOLver's sweeping comments (although now I get it).

One big difference I see is that the VS has more posters so the range of opinions will tend to vary more.

Why would I delete a post about a UT student on the VS?  I might shake my head at the poster for saying it (I may even say as a parent of a college aged girl I find it offensive)...but I wouldn't delete it.  It doesn't violate any rules and not every post has to meet my personal standards if it doesn't.  I happen to despise the latest Kiffin rumor posts (about the coeds).  They bother me because without proof I see them as typical internet hate stuff and possibly completely unfounded....but I am not going to delete them.

Actually Mud, I recall you telling one poster who was using the "whore" word that the girl in question had parents, and he backed down.

I appreciated that, and I can honestly say that I would have felt the same way about any girl put in that situation, regardless of school affiliation.  Who knows what happened, but that's just unfair to the girls.

Here is my best unsolicited advice:

No matter how cordial it might be, sooner or later that fan base is going to turn, if not go postal, on Tennessee fans.  It's just their nature.  My advice is to just save yourself the aggravation and stay away from them.  Sure ther are some good guys there, but more times that not it's just not worth the hassle.
