Was the last year the SEC did NOT win the MNC the year that Auburn went undefeated and denied a shot?

Nope.  That was 2004.  Texas beat U$C in 2005, then UF started the SEC's streak in 2006.

No. That was 2004. The 2005 champion was TX, the last time a non SEC team won it

Yes, I think it was 2004 season, 2005 National Championship. Texas beat USC in 2005.
