To join the SEC next year is gaining some momentum apparently all 12 schools have already accepted them.

They might not if they get the invite to join. Santos wanted to play in the SEC, that's the main reason he chose us over them. If they offer that same advantage, he may switch his commitment.

Well the chips fall and see who he ends up with. I want him in Ornate and White but will wish him the best of luck no matter his choice.

No doubt, we will do well to hang on to him no matter what the Aggies end up doing.

True, but even if they join, it wouldn't be till 2013. Let's hope he liked UT for more than us being in the SEC. He did turn Bama down too.

The rumor I read yesterday said they would join for 2012 and the SEC might play that year with 13 and wait one more year to add another. Just a rumor though.

Aren't we all happy that the SEC is called the SEC and doesn't have numbers that aren't accurate in the name of the conference?

And they say that Southerners are slow.  At least we know how to count.

True....but is there now proof that we're not so good at geography?

Well, even when aTm joins, all the teams will be from the south of the Mason-Dixon, and the conference will still be east of the west coast.

No worse than those geniuses in the Pacific 10.  Someone remind me how far it is from Boulder, Colorado to the beach.

Love it.  Yes I would like the "eggies"    to join the SEC.

But, some big questions -- if they do join the SEC, WOULD OUR TX RECRUITING IMPROVE?  And, a follow-up ... seems I remember that, historically, our TX recruits tend NOT to pan out very well.  Should we even WANT more players from TX?

Would appreciate your thoughts on this.   My suspicion is, we'd pick up about 2 to 3 players from TX each year, not necessarily the best players, but who could help us ... some.  A boost for the Vols, but a modest one.

If the Aggies join the SEC, who else would bail from the Formerly-Big-12?  Oklahoma?  I don't see it holding together once the Horns get that HS TV deal.
