We showed flashes of being a really good team Saturday, but were very inconsistent across the board.  This is what I would expect of a young team in rebuilding mode with a lot of holes to fill.  We will get better and we will be better, and I am optimistic that we improve considerably over the course of the season.  I hope the young men representing our University make good choices, stay in school and work hard.  The rest will take care of itself.

Saturday was a hard, cold dose of reality. UF whipped us in the trenches and it's probably going to happen more times this season. I expected it, but was glad to see the Vols fight it out to the end. We, as fans, just have to be patient and wait for better times. RECRUIT DEREK RECRUIT.

After the first quarter (and even in the first quarter) our DL more than held their own against the UF OL.  When they lined up and try to run it at us we stuffed them.  J. Smith and M. Jackson played well.  Hood played well and showed some good instincts but didn't execute well, at times.  I rarely notice Couch when he is in but he is probably the reason that Jackson is being disruptive because he takes up space and blockers.  Our DEs are an area were we need to improve.  J. Smith bings it every game and was very active Saturday.  Bohannon had a good game Saturday but in my view needs to be more consistent.  The other DEs need to step up IMO.  Maggitt is probably our 3rd best DE right now (in passing situations).

Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

You have to figure our very young LB corps has plenty of room to improve.  I was also encouraged by our DB corps.   Brewer had a fantastic game.  I don't think we are missing Janzen much.
