given our QB situation, and how Simms did last year would you consider playing Whirley, even though we want to red shirt him, with Bray out 4-6 weeks wouldn't he give us the best shot of winning? Last year we put a freshman a QB and look at the numbers he put up this year... couldn't we play Whirley see the same outcome??

Good topic.

Why play Whorley when you have a good idea how your qb will respond? Do you want  all that weight on a freshman and worry at the same time you might get him killed? How could it affect his psyche?

Agree Greggo, with his inexperience the next two defenses we will face could literally hurt him badly.  Imo there's a difference between getting him some reps and feeding fresh meat to the wolves.
