I finally gave in and bought the Star Wars collection on blu-ray.  Any other blu-rays that are "must-haves" that you guys own?

I know I'm going to get ripped for this but I still have never seen any LOTR movies.  But I see the extended versions of the blu ray collection was finally released.  I'm tempted to buy it without having even seen them, going by how they are described in the same vein as Star Wars in regards to their epicness.

The best looking blu-ray I own is Life, the BBC doc.  The best looking movie is Casino Royale (Bond flick).  The best sounding movie is Master and Commander.  As far as extras, nothing can touch the LOTR set.

I own the first two you mentioned.  Also, the Bourne trilogy is a good one.

Another I recommend is the Godfather trilogy.  Obviously these are older movies, and they're not going to look as good as a new release, but they still look better than they ever have, and have lots of cool extras.

Am I the only person who doesn't have a Blu Ray player?

No.

That's only because you can afford to hire the stars to come act out their movies in your living room.

So is it good enough for me to just buy in good faith knowing I'll like it?  I think I would, I will prolly go for it.

Lord yes.  I'm not even a Tolkien geek- never read any of the books, but I think it's the greatest cinematic achievement to date.

Uh....yes. It's a great blend of fantasy adventure, action, and even some romance. The music, score...casting, is brilliant. The storytelling is awesome, as are the emotions you will experience. Some extremely emotional moments in this series. I will warn you though...the first 45 minutes of the first film are a little slow...but it's the setup. After that it gets going.
