More fuel to the Da'Rick rumors and how Baggett is leaving because Dooley favored Da'Rick and LET HIM disrespect Baggett.

Per Fortenberry, it will be termed a retirement but he will be compensated.

If he is being compensated, he ain't retiring.

That's being fired....but why? Unless it's because we couldn't get another WR to step up? CDD also always commented on poor WR blocking.

I'm not disappointed. Well...unless he truly is retiring because Dooley is cultivating a culture that allows the inmates to run the asylum. That would be disturbing.

I think we have to look past the field and wonder about staff chemistry and the rumors of players (Rogers and Bray) being allowed to run the show.

Could certainly be part of it. I suppose it will eventually come out.

Rumors, rumors, rumors...

Lance Thompson is heavily involved in the head coaching search at UAB.

Eric Russell is close to Mike Leach who just got hired at WSU.

Heistand and Joseph are on the chopping block.

It sure sounds like a shizzlety situation... of course we had a shizzlety football team.

Fortenberry's quick article on it specifically mentions Tee Martin as a possible replacement.

If I was Tee Martin I'd be looking for the fastest way out of UK. Can He recruit? Jury is out. Can he coach? Jury isout on that one too as far as I can tell.

I like Tee, but I don't know that he has done much yet to prove he is a good WR coach.

Frankly, the only coaches who I would be really upset if Tennessee lost are Thompson, Sirmon and Wilcox.

Of course, if we're going to go after unprovens to replace some of these other guys -- like Chaney, Joseph and Baggett -- I would just as soon they stay.

Just read on FeelsLike98.com that Baggett's retirement is because his wife hates Knoxville and if there is any Da'Rick drama, that is secondary and just helped it along. This sounds plausible. However I don't like the amount of buzz I am hearing about an exodus of coaches. One coach is one thing. 6 is rats leaving a sinking ship. Our recruiting would be destroyed. In that case there is little point in keeping the head coach.

If Wilcox, Sirmon, or Thompson leave I will be in "throw up my hands" mode.  Otherwise, meh.

In terms of fan support, Dooley hiring Tee would be the best move he's made since he's been here.

I don't know if he'd be the best in terms of WR performance though. He has very little experience as a WR coach, and we don't need to hire him just because he is a VFL.
