Absolutely!  We, as parents, always talk about the lack of role models in sports for our children....yet when one comes along that ANY parent should want their children to look up to...some ridicule and make fun of him (I'm not saying those here are doing that).  Here is a man that leads the life he preaches...and I for one, am thrilled our children have him as a role model!   He is a class act all the way and I wish him the best of luck.   He's humble and just continues to lead his life as he believes he should as a Christian...God Bless you Tim Tebow!

As for role models, no, I don't trust people who are in your face about their faith and are continiously publicly making a show of it. I don't view him as a role model, and unless one is a Christian who likes for public people to be upfront and the media to hype their faith, they don't either. I don't know him at all, why would I take him to be a role model? Because he claims to be Christian? I'm not Christian, why would that be a role model for me? That's what you fail to see. However, that is my personal stance and that isn't the reason for the sarcasm in my post.

I absolutely loathe Deerstone.  If I get in the car and he is on, first thing I do is change it to another station.  He argues minutia that nobody but he and the person he is arguing with cares about, and he lets it go on and on.

I like the fact that Tebow wears his faith on his sleeve and isn't ashamed of it. As a conservative Baptist, I often question the motives of Christians who want "to be seen" praying or preaching on street corners, etc. For all I know, Tebow may be one of those people. But in an era where — as Vinnie alluded to — our kids' sports role models are always in the news for all the wrong reasons, Tim Tebow is in the news for all the right reasons. I would rather my son watch ESPN and see a special about Tebow's faith than to watch ESPN and see a story about Tiger Woods' infidelities.

And if he weren't a Christian, my feelings on that wouldn't change. It's Tebow's faith that makes him who he is, I have little doubt about that, but people gravitate to him because of who he is, not necessarily because of his faith.

Did Tebow ask for a one-hour Sportscenter special? Did he ask for anyone to make a big deal about his faith? Did he ask for Matt Drudge to put up headlines proclaiming that he wins because of divine intervention?

No. He's gone out and played the game. If you want to blame someone for that, blame the big media hype machine.

Instead, we see people gloating because he lost. Some of them just don't like anyone who dares to believe in a higher power. Others are frustrated at the media's hype of Tebow and direct their ire towards the wrong person.

But those who are proclaiming that Denver is winning because the Broncos are God's team and the people who make jokes about Tebow's faith are all in the same category: they're too hung up on a guy's faith in God.

All he's doing is playing football...and building hospitals in impoverished countries, giving terminally ill fans the day of their life, etc. He just doesn't shy away from his faith.
