Yeah, there's certain guys I don't like on the dolphins (Marshall), or even the Vols either.

And don't even get me started on the Nashville media....

I have spent the last 15 years with people trying to force me to be a Titan fan...oh, you have to root for your hometown team, etc. Well...no I don't. I rooted for the Green Bay packers because of Reggie, the Broncos because of Al, I root for the Texans because of Arian but I won't root for the Titans ever.

You can't force someone to be a fan

Exactly!  I'll choose my team for my own reasons and everyone else can root for losers if they want to...I won't judge or commit vandalism.

How about if we sweeten the pot with free odoreaters for life?

I just can't imagine what would motivate a person to do such a thing based on football. Especially NFL football.

Quite frankly, I've never understood fanaticism for pro teams in any sport unless you live in (or are from) the city or state or even general area in which the team is located. Vicarious pleasure from the success of others.

and I have lived mostly a tough life for that. Lately things have been better. I took up with the Titans since I had no local favorites and they are my second favorite football team. I have no second favorite baseball team.

I just like the sport. I watch football games between teams I don't have an interest in just to watch the strategy, formations, etc. I find the sport fascinating.

Some Titans fans call me a "hater" just because I live in TN and they aren't my #1 team.  As if I was obligated to drop my lifelong allegiance to the Falcons the day Bud Adams moved the franchise.  Fact is, I root for the Titans.  They have always been my #3 team behind the Falcons and Colts, and now I guess they'll move up to #2.  But unless Arthur Blank moves the Falcons to LA, the Titans will never be my favorite team.

BDV -- you and I agree on this.  I've liked the Colts since I was a little girl (back in the OLD days when they were the Baltimore Colts); and I've been a Falcons fan since I moved to GA.....so Titans fall down the list for me.   I'm not that into pro football any more anyway, so the Colts will probably drop down my list and Falcons will be #1 for me.   As for the Titans, well, if Peyton shows up there I'll be ok with it, but won't become a "fan"....I'll follow Peyton whereever he goes, but the Falcons will remain my #1 team

I don't understand it in general.   Well I do to some extent but think a lot of it is silly. People associate with teams and live vicariously through them but does it really make a real difference in their lives other than feeling good?  No not really... and in some cases its the only thing that person has going for them.

Compared to TN sports, when Dallas loses it doesn't bother me nearly as bad.  I get over a Dallas loss by the next day, whereas a TN football loss bothers for several days, weeks, or in extreme cases perpetually.  Sometimes I even have to laugh at the variety of ways Romo can lose a game.

I think a lot of people root for players rather than teams. I can understand your reasons for disliking the Titan fans you've had contact with. Also say that I can't blame you for disliking anything they like. (your friend is my enemy,....)

I'm proud to say I'm a bandwagon fan. When they're good I'll watch, but when they're not it doesn't bother me when they lose.
