It's a hard knock life... for Vols..

The bad thing about before and after photos is that I always wore clothes that minimized my bulk, but here's a best effort at showing the difference that 80 pounds makes in a guy my size.

Before...

After (today)...

I was a shade over 340 when we took those pics at the beach and today I'm closing in on 260.

My wife has also lost at least 30 pounds since the beach pics.

Well, the news gets better. I weighed in just a little while ago to complete a challenge we've had for the last four months and I weighed in at 256. I'm 16 pounds away from my original goal, which was to lose 100 pounds.

I had to lose 10 pounds to meet the challenge (it was based on BMI). I lost 29. 10 more pounds and my BMI will be under 30 for the first time since my senior year in high school.

Of course BMI is not the best calculation for me because even if I get to 220 which is where my trainer wants me I will still be "overweight" according to BMI. BMI doesn't take into account muscle mass weight.

This is awesome for more than one reason.  You have now stopped smoking and made a healthy lifestyle change in regards to diet and exercise. A big accomplishment!!
