SEC teams ahead of us: 1 LSU, 2 Bama, 6 UGA, 9 USCe, 10 ARK, 23 FLA, 25 AUB, 30 TAM, and 33 MSU. We are tied with Missouri. NC State is ahead of us at 35. So does this mean that beating NC State will be counted as the first one Dooley wins where he's not supposed to?

Vols were favored by 7 vs. NCSU the last I heard, so no.

The preseason polls are so stupid anyway. They are 98% what happened last year.

I don't think so. I'd go with Vegas on this one, and we're a 3 point favorite by that measure. But winning a game against a quality opponent at a neutral site would most definitely be a confidence boost.

I don't like the ranking,but I would hardly say we don't deserve it.  Winning will cure all ills.
