tried and true veteran that will cost a fortune. I vote for the successful veteran. Get a big name coach and pay the money. Of course our athletic budget is not what it used to be. Especially to pay a basketball coach.  This could get crazy/ier before it is over.

We aren't going to get a top-shelf coach, if that's what you mean by successful veteran. Our best bet is a "successful veteran" at the mid-major level.

The No. 1 name on my list would be Michael White, but Hart screwed the pooch on that one last year.

We're going to be lucky to get an up-and-comer mid-major coach. It will likely be an up-and-comer at a low major. Will Wade from UTC, Steve Prohm from Murray State, Brad Underwood from Stephen F. Austin . . . that level hire. We could overpay and still get them for $1.5M or less, and that's really what we ought to be shooting for. We're overpaying no matter who we get because it's going to take a lot of incentive to get somebody to jump into this dumpster fire.

Given the circumstances, Brad Underwood is probably the name that should be near the top of Hart's list.
