be allowed to wear non-white uniforms? UT/Maryland may as well be wearing the same colors.

This seems like it would create problems for the players. Playing basketball a good player will use peripheral vision to see the court. It would be difficult to distinguish uniform colors on the periphery with these two uniform choices.

UT's mens team wears orange at home on occasion - did it, I think, in one of its final couple of home games. 

It's allowable by NCAA rules.
