recruit that many players each year, no matter what he says. It is the NBA rules that created this stuff. What is he supposed to do not recruit the best players available. At least they lost.

Although Coach K is recruiting a growing number of one-and-dones, Duke seems to have done just fine without having to completely retool each year. So has UNC. If Calipari was as good a coach as everyone makes him out to be, he should be able to recruit one or two of those guys and build the rest of his team around them.

I just don't think that Calipari, who may be college sports' best recruiter (regardless of which sport), is much more than an above-average coach.

It doesn't matter to him, he recruits one and done - it is what he sells.

Has Cal declared this the greatest day in the history of UK hoops yet, or is that the actual Draft Day?

Bingo.  Go to classes one semester, take online classes the second semester, go to the league.  That is his entire recruiting pitch.

It doesn't matter to him, he recruits one and done - it is what he sells.

When it comes to actual coaching acumen I give Calipari big time credit for one and only one thing: getting ultra-high-ego 18 year olds to play not just passable defense, but outstanding defense. His teams don't just roll the ball out and play-- they play hard and with purpose on the defensive end. That is NOT easy to coach when your whole roster has eyes on the next NBA draft.

Well....they probably figure it ups their draft stock to play D, and they are very likely correct.

Don't give him too much credit....

I think Cal is a good coach,a better recruiter than coach..I think he got out coached in the final four and counted on talent too much and just let his players play and it hurt them against Wisc. but like Clock said,he gets the best out of 18 yr old phenom's and makes them play as a team,is a lot harder than people may think..The one and done is just how it is these days and he makes the most of it..I wish players had to stay more than one year like with College Football..The games wouldn't be as low scoring and actually more fun to watch with more experienced players competing on the court..Not a fan of the NBA anyway
