OMG! So. Much. Swag. How did we manage to win any games without Nike? How have we even maintained an athletic department for this long? I'm convinced. With Nike onboard, we're going to run the table and win the NC next year. In EVERY sport.  |

I got an email today from the UT Office of Alumni Affairs welcoming Nike with a video of the new uniforms.
Apparently I don't appreciate the gravity of this event.

I watched the video. Am I buying stuff? No. Am I glad everyone busted it to get whatever hype exists? Sure.
Hopefully we start getting hype for actual wins, but I'll take what we have.

We've been a Nike school all day and we haven't won a damn championship, game or match in anything. Worse, we havent had anybody drafted either. How long til we can expect some results.  |

I just don't get the displeasure with our adidas history.
We won a football national championship as an adidas school. .
We made the CWS twice as an adidas school.
We went further in basketball as an adidas school than ever before.
The women's basketball team continued to be one of the top 2 or 3 programs in America during our adidas years.
The softball team made, what, a half dozen women's CWS's as an adidas school.
The tennis program excelled.
What am I missing?
Just don't get the detest for adidas nor the adoration for Nike.

We went further in basketball as an adidas school than ever before.

If you're referring to my original post, you apparently missed the cynicism, snark, and sarcasm. I HATE nike. In fact, Phil Knight might just be the devil. I will admit that a lot of their stuff revealed yesterday looks pretty good. But I'll never buy it.  |

Adidas never, ever got the orange completely right and it convinced me that they just half-assed it. The orange on the new Nikes yesterday was spot-on and they even mentioned several times how important it was to get it right. Otherwise I only care if it impacts our programs, and Nike's reputation does-- even if only a little. |

Not meant as a shot at you, CO, in any shape, form, or fashion, but the same was said about Nike when UT left them for adidas the first time around. Funny. Not much really changes with UT fans. |
