How many spots do we have left (18ish to offer?), and how do we allocate those by position?

It's fluid. Right now we have 14  commits but I think you can count at least 2-3 guys currently committed to be playing elsewhere, so I expect we will take about 7 more. I think we will take 2 more WRs, at least one DT, maybe 1 DE, 2-3 more DBs, and 1-2 OL. Remember that the class can now take 20-21, because of Oliver and Bruce, who were blueshirts, being gone.

I wouldn't mind saving a few spots for the next couple classes.  '17 looks to be the best class ever in TN, and '18 could be even better- check out 24/7's rankings that year, which just came out yesterday.

http://247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/RecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool

Sure, those kids only have one season of HS football in the books, and that list will be very fluid over the next couple years.   But there are 5 TN kids on there, and #1 overall has already said we're his leader.

This year's class may look "down" compared to the last two, but '17 and '18 could be our best yet.

Yes. 17 and 18 will be great in state years. rivals has 10 top 250 guys out of Tenn, and Butch has done really well in state.

the '17 class has three in state RBs which we will likely get. Richardson, Chandler, and legacy Chase Hayden
