The unit is hooked up and dang, it is CRAZY fast. Turns on instantly, updates took about 20 minutes total. New Tomb Raider will be played tomorrow night. Backward Compatibility is coming this week as well. The Elite controller is fantastic, very balanced... feels stout and more in control. My question is, are any of you using gamefly and do you recommend it? :-)  yer pal, me |

I actually understand what he wrote because it is aviation-related, but I'm not sure about the tie to gaming. I'm not a gamer.  |

I switched over to PS4 this generation after years of owning an XB360. And it's been great. But I'm still missing Forza, and with Tomb Raider being exclusive for a year, I think I'm going to break down and get an XB1, too. Plus, with backward compatibility, I'll get some more use out of all these 360 games still sitting on my shelf (many of which haven't even been finished. A few have barely even been started.)
And there are SO many great games coming out right now. IMO, this has been the best Q4 for game releases since 2011. I don't have the new Metal Gear yet, but it sounds amazing. Halo 5 is out. TR and Fallout 4 are out this week, Star Wars Battlefront next week. Newly rebooted Guitar Hero and Rock Band games (I still don't know which, but I'll be getting one of them). And that's not even taking into account the annual entries we've come to expect like Madden, AC, COD, etc.

PS4 has better graphics and frame rate. It also has the better controller (unless you get the XB1 Elite, like Veeta). XB1 has the better exclusives, at least to this point (Titanfall, Forza, GoW, Halo, Tomb Raider). Hopefully the PS4 will start to even that out next year. Uncharted 4 will help a lot. |

My plan is still to pick up a PS4 next week with the arrival of SW Battlefront. The other games on my immediate list will be Uncharted collection, Borderlands remastered bundle, Metal Gear, and probably the new AC for Christmas.
I've never touched any of the Fallout titles so I dont really even know what it's all about. But I can see all the chatter about it out there so I'm tempted to check it out.

Yeah, I'm also waiting to see the Black Friday Bundles (or, for South Park fans, "Brack Friday Bundurus"  ). The best I see for XB1 right now is at Best Buy: a 1TB console, both of the rebooted Tomb Raider games, and an extra controller for $349. But I'll bet someone beats it before then. |

Well, I'm going to rave here... this machine is a beauty and the "elite" controller is awesome. I've become pretty fond of the xbox live experience and with the hybrid drive this sucker is lightning fast. I was prepared for the "agonizingly long" game loads yet TOMB RAIDER (about 25 gigs) was ready to play in less than 20 minutes. It's a stunning game, beautiful graphics... a bit tougher than the last iteration. But a great challenge, so much fun. I recommend highly!!! GO LAURA! Oh yeah, and Ava is loving it telling me where to go! :-) Now once NCAA 2014 is backward compatible, I'll be a very happy camper. OH, and blu-ray movies look fantastic as well.

Walmart will be selling the 500Gb PS4 Uncharted bundle for $299 on Thanksgiving day. Supposedly, you can order it online for that price on that day. You can preorder the SW bundle for $349 right now..... |
