It probably is completely true that Tunsil did not ask Barney Farar for money nor receive money from him.


What almost certainly happened is that Tunsil indicated that his mother needed money and Farar provided it.  So he can deny giving Tunsil money with a straight face.

I have heard from multiple sources that this is how it's done.  You give money to a family friend or relative (usually a more distant one than a mother) and that's much harder to trace than giving an athlete money directly.

Farar's statement is laughable.
