My favorite story was watching the Lady VOLS at UD arena playing Marist in an early round game.
We had good seats near the pep band and a good view of the LV bench.

CP was our star that year.  On the far end Candice took a defensive play off, leading to an easy basket by Marist.
The Lady VOLS come down court and we hear Pat scream TIME OUT!

Candice makes a beeline to the bench with her head down, she knows what is coming.
Pat spent the entire TO in CP's face while the assistants spoke with the team (I think Nikki was the lead assistant)
For the next sequence CP sat next to Pat and received additional coaching, complete with animated hand gestures.

When Candice went back in the game she owned the boards and had a steal or two.  She did not attempt a shot for several minutes.

Candice was the star but knew she had screwed up, she expected and accepted the resulting lecture and atoned for it.
Later she led the team to a NC with a separated shoulder.

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

I have never seen the Lady Vols in action.  I regret not seeing Pat live, though I did watch them on TV quite a bit.

For that matter I haven't seen the men in Knoxville since I was in school, although I did catch an SEC tourney game or three in Atlanta a few years ago.
