we have no AD and even when we do, does he come in and clean house immediately? I doubt it. IMO Butch will be allowed a lame duck year, which is bad for the program. He will basically not recruit, or hire anyone worth anything (can't if you are a lame duck). We're screwed

Spot on. It's unfortunate. Everyone knows Butch will be back next year, including But h. But everyone also knows that next year will be his last, including Butch. Having a lame duck coach is even worse than the instability of a coaching change. It isn't difficult to imagine this program ultimately being set back to where it was when Dooley was fired...the difference being we won't have two premiere recruiting classes there with legacies and in-state guys ripe for the picking the next time. It's depressing to think about.
