Excited with Scott, not so much with Canales

But Canales coached up Phillip Rivers.
Thus, the sum total of his "history"

I'll just wait and see what happens. I guess having a QB coach is better than not having a QB coach.

I was excited by the Larry Scott hire last year as TE coach. My issue with him as OC is that it is a sign that Butch is not only satisfied with the status quo on offense but wants an OC who is going to run Butch's offense without changes. Regardless of what the stats showed at the end of the season, I think there are a lot of flaws with Butch's offense, and I don't think it is a championship-caliber offense in the SEC. I wish that, just once, Butch would admit his shortcomings and hire coaches who will help him overcome them instead of hiring friends and yes-men. That's the difference between our coach and some other top-level coaches in CFB like Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.

Also, it appears we are keeping Dan Mahoney for another year. Not sure in what universe that makes sense.

I will tell you this, Larry Scott won the interview today.  Very impressive handling of himself and the questions.  Actually refreshing from recent top level coaches at UT.

Agree Pirate.....He was impressive and if you didn't know who our HC was.... listening to that you would think he was the head coach.
