Let's see what smart does with this "can't miss" class ;)

I predict UT will get back into GA this year in a big way for recruits.

UGA has done less with more than any program in the country over the last 25 years.

Well, given the past two head to head results, I would say that Tennessee IS back, as far as UGA is concerned.

One thing about it is that although it sucked to lose Hunter Johnson, that was a long time ago and it's not at all unusual for a player of that stature to flip.  As for Tee Higgins, it's disturbing but I don't see WR as a big need in this class.  Although Juan Jennings is doing his best to change that opinion.

Most of the others were not that big a deal...at least some of the players had academic issues.

So it sucks, but we still have a top 20 class.  And yes, I realize we are 7th in the SEC per Rivals, but even there we are only one point behind Auburn, so I'd say we are tied for 6.  Nitpicking aside, it's not good that we are 6th, but from the East only Florida and Georgia are ahead of us.  If you average the last 4 classes I believe we are ahead of them (don't have my spreadsheet with me) or at any rate very competitive, and we just beat both of them this season for the first time since 2003 (I think).

So it's not all gloom and doom.  Based on past performance, many expect Jones to stumble this year, but for the program it's better if he doesn't, and hopefully he won't.

What I dislike is all the "experts" who claim a thing is one way or another before it happens, and are flat wrong quite often.

That may be true, there is nothing that can be done about the past.

All I can say is UGA's future looks very bright and if Kirby does not get it done , it sure wont be because of the lack of talent.

You don't say anything but negative shizzle. Regurgitating what you have read elsewhere. You are not special. Very average poster & negavol. Suit yourself. Carryon. Your "candor" and obvious bias is amusing.

Go ahead and mislead yourself dawg.  Your class may be top 5, but in an earlier thread you compared it to bammer's class.  Good luck with that!  It's not even close.  Guess what?  Butch had back to back top 5 classes.  You'll have to do better than that.

In the meantime, good luck with Kirby! I will point out that Dooley was also a former Satan assistant

Now that may be true, we have great classes and nothing happens.

The difference is Butch has defined himself with all his blabbering BS and a disappointing year with a talented roster. (I dont have a beef with UT fans, great people.) Butch just rubs me the wrong way..he is better at the BS than he is at coaching.

Now Kirby is still an unknown...lets see what he does with all that talent. Sure he could fail and fail hard, but we dont know either way.

In that sense I like where we are...tremendous upside with recruiting the likes we never saw with Richt..most of it instate.

Kirby tells it like it is...no 5 star hearts BS.

Just go get Chip Kelly now..get it over with.

Butch really needs to hire a PR person and run everything through him/her before he speaks.  It's getting to the point of absurdity.

He already went 7-5.  Guess what?  There is tremendous downside also.  Particularly when you run oft a coach that has a 0.740 win percentage. Lol, that one is still hard to wrap my head around.  My own school and Texas are two good examples of karma.

I know that Smart can turn it around. Satan was 6-6 his first year at bammer.  But...that season followed an interesting script.  They started 6-0 unexpectedly then wilted down the stretch.  All the bammer mouth breathers said that it was due to Shula's old players, and I laughed, and I was wrong.

But I don't see any such pattern at Uga with Smart.  You sucked at the start, middle, AND end of the season.

So like I said....good luck with that!

Indeed we shall, but I have to admit that if given the opportunity to swap right now, I'd do it.  Butch won't admit when he's wrong.  Makes it hard to improve.

Somehow he just irritates the crap out of me with those damn cheesy cliches. He could be the HC anywhere and I would feel the same, has nothing to do with him being at Tennessee.

Both teams lost to Vandy. They have more than each other to worry about.
