They have a tough PG who doesn't turn it over.  They have a guy who wants to ball in crunch time.  And when they decide to clamp down on D, you're not scoring on them.  Those three things may not win you 30+ games in the regular season, but they're big in March.  No other team left in the tourney defends like SC.

Just glad UF lost, I can deal with whatever else happens.

Gotta love Frank Martin, too.

I wouldn't bet against them for sure. Martin has done at USC in 5 years what we've never done.

Just more proof that you don't need a roster full of 5*'s to win in hoops.  The only really highly recruited guy on their roster is Thornwell.  You get one difference-maker like him, and fill out the rest of the team with coachable guys who know their roles and will buy in to your system, you can go a long way.

Then there's this game on now, which is like picking between Syria and North Korea.

And Cal, with all those 5*'s and one NC to show for it.

Heard this morning that he's had 28 guys drafted in his 8 years at UK.  The next closest in that time is Duke, with 14.

Like I said elsewhere...Saban with average coaching skills.

As for Junior, I will root hard for them against what is perhaps the most underachieving program in the history of NCAA basketball (i.e., fewest championships as a function of Final Four appearances), but I think Junior is done.

I would not say that, but I saw their coach interviewed today, and he was talking about how rewarding it was and how good things can happen, and how he didn't sleep at all last night he was so excited.

Are they just happy to be in the Final Four?  Yep.  Stick a fork in em! Too bad, I'd love to see them string Roy Williams cheating arse up by his heels, so to speak, but I think they are done.  Hope I'm wrong though.
