I've noticed that some of our conference rivals who usually would've asserted themselves in the top ten by now are off to some slow starts:

3. LSU- 21 total commits
8. Tennessee- 13
12. A&M- 13
21. Kentucky- 13
30. Vanderbilt- 11
37. Florida- 8
38. S. Carolina- 10
39. MSU-11
41. Arkansas-9
46. Ole Miss-9
53. Auburn-6
54. bammer- 5
64. Georgia-6
78. Missouri-4

Now I'd love to think that UF, AU, bammer, and UGA will stay that low, but I'm sure they'll close strong, and bammer will probably end up #1, as usual.  This isn't unusual for UF, as they always seem to start slowly under the Shark fizzleer (no, I'm not letting that go ).  But for AU, bammer, and UGA to still have fewer than 10 commits at this point is very unusual.  Would this somehow figure into their strategy with the new early signing day, or are they just having an off year?

You know there is strategy at work in St. Nick's evil mind. There has to be. But I've been watching Alabama's slow start with awe and wonder. Yes, they'll be No. 1 as always. If they aren't, the NCAA will probably launch an investigation in Knoxville or Baton Rouge.

That's all well and good, but I am more interested in the standings at the end of the SEC regular season and at the end of the bowl games.  Last time I checked, there are no championships awarded for recruiting.  Got to win on the scoreboard.  Period.  Dot.  Period.

Yep.  Two highly rated RBs.

Still wish we had gotten Master Teague, however.  He was by far the best football player I saw live last year, and that includes Jacoby Stephens of Oakland, who ended up signing with LSU.

Very nice weekend.  2 RB commits, 1 DT.  All 3/4* (depending on the service), all with huge offer lists.  I really didn't see Butch recruiting so well this year, so color me pleasantly surprised.
