..according to Vickers, the Vols D thought UF would throw something to try and get enough yardage for a long FG. There were 9 seconds when the ball was snapped. But when he was flushed from the pocket I guess he figured there was not enough time for that and he threw it long.

I understand the thinking by the Vols D, but we still should have had one man positioned on the goal line.
