I'm not so sure Sumlin is getting fired. After the UCLA meltdown they haven't played bad. Why would Franklin leave PSU? Unless they throw the bank at him. Money isn't everything and why would he want to be back with the stress that coaching in the SEC brings? BTW how would you feel if Franklin was the next Vols coach? Could we get over all the trash talk we had for him when he was at Vandy? Dude can flat out coach though.

I'm guessing he's viewed as a savior in State College, for good reason.  Why give that up for a "show me what you can do" do-or-die situation in the SEC?  Seeing as how it's now pretty clear that he was the brains behind Shoop's apparent defensive coaching prowess, I'd take him in a heartbeat, but don't expect he'd have any interest.

The guy can coach and I'd take him at UT in a second. IMO he will be back in the SEC at some point.

Would you say aTm is a better job than the UT job or not?  They have some different type traditions.

Sumlin will be gone after this year. After what the member of the BOT tweeted and the AD saying this is a prove it year, how can Sumlin survive. I see A&M suffering the same late season collapse as usual. Hiring Chavis was not the magical elixir to fix the defense he hoped. Sumlin still cannot find a QB to run the system that will stay in school or that can stay healthy.

A&M definitely has more alumni money than UT to pay off a coach and build expansive stadium additions. Money cannot buy happiness, but it can make football coaches richer.

Complete BS.  PSU is a top ten place, AtM is top 25 at best, maybe down into the 30s.  A step down for sure.

And I would be surprised if Sumlin gets fired, but he might leave on his own.
