Please note: This post is not about the new coach.

I went to lake this weekend. We had some tiglet fans, a Gamecock fan, an Iowa State fan and me, the UT fan. The house has DirectTV. Both the Iowa State game and the SC game began at noon. The Iowa State game was on a DirectTV channel that apparently isn't on air all of the time but used only for the overflow of games. Before noon, this channel was not on the air but came on the air exactly at noon.

As Big 12 games tend to do, it was a long one because it was high scoring. With less than a minute, Iowa State was deep in OSU territory attempting to tie the game. Then, the channel went off of the air. I looked at my watch and it was exactly 4:00 PM. I guess DirectTV set the timer for four hours figuring the game would be over.

The Iowa State fan was mad. I was mad, too. But by then the wine had been opened and I moved on.

But it was still a dirty trick.

Yeah, that does suck.  I ditched DirectTV for Dish years ago, and have not regretted it.  And Dish was founded and is run by a UT grad, so there's that. I may be indirectly helping with the coaching search, in a very small way.

Having said that, Dish is way overcharging me.  Time to do something about that!
