...or should I say, former commits.

Penix decommitted today.  Pruitt told him to look elsewhere.  And that's not speculation- Penix admitted it in his announcement.

And Martinez looks like he could flip to Nebraska at any time.  He's pulled all the UT stuff off his twitter page, and most of the 247 crystal ball guys are now predicting him to NU.

Martinez is a high 4*, top 100 QB.  No way would the staff tell him to look around.

But here's the thing- If the staff thought there was any chance they might lose AM (and they HAD to have at least an inkling it could happen- Frost offered him before Pruitt even took the job), I don't think they would've told Penix to take a walk- unless they had someone else on the hook.

Word I've seen is Helton wasn't too high on Martz? Needs a good QB in this class....maybe 2. Hard to tell what we've got in the 3 that played this season with the lack of OL play....They all 3 spent most of their time running for their lives.

JG will be fine, if he can just get some help from his OL and WRs.  But we still have to sign at least one QB this year.  I'm seeing rumors about Trevor Lawrence flipping, Jacob Eason transferring from UGA, and just about every other uncommitted QB out there.

I was thinking about what Eason would do. Did he play enough this year to burn his redshirt?

Yes, unless he gets a medical RS.

That matches up with what I have been told.  Martinez didn't have an offer from Southern California.  Might be a hint there.

Do you think we have another QB on the hook?  I'd like to think so, but I said the same back when Kiffin ran Boyd and Petty off, too.
