Long discussed and seems like a good move.

We definitely need help back there.

Should have been done well before now.

Just another example of Butch being Butch.

Very little difference in Dooley and Butch.

Do you remember who Dooley's "signature" win at UT was against?

Hint:  It was critical.  Just critical.

Watson Brown was a solid offensive football coach.  Vandy scored points when he was there.

Dooley was an awful recruiter but imo a much better Xs and Os coach than Butch, and surrounded himself with much better help (sans Sunseri).

And had a much much worse record than Butch.   Dooley never had a winning season while Butch got us to nine wins twice.

Agree about the staff.  Justin Wilcox went on to do well as an assistant elsewhere and is now the HC at Cal.  Chaney has bounced all over the SEC and is doing well at Georgia.  Also X/Os....Butch was awful about that.  I guess Dooley was okay on the X/Os....not much better at in game management though. I recall many instances of the wrong number of folks on the field for special teams, inappropriate tries on 4th down, the LSU game with .... 13 on the field!

Dooley was worse overall than Butch though, if you use the one statistic that counts - wins.  That truly is all that matters.

But whatever. I am looking forward, not back.

I will be willing to wager that some folks will still be whining about Butch 10 years for now.  Some just can't seem to let it go.
