5. Kiiiiiiiiiiing of the Volunteers. We didn't have a whole lot of iconic hoops moments in John's days (at least that I was around to hear), and that's too bad. Because IMO, he was even better calling basketball than he was at football. Would have LOVED to hear him call some of Pearl's big games, or even some of the games this past season.

4. Eddie George, HE. DID. NOT. MAKE IT!

3. Willie Gault runs all the way to the State Capitol.

2. Manning to Kent, on Play. Number. One.

1. Pandemonium reigns.

There are no wrong answers here.

Gotta add:
Phillips runs through, around, over and underneath defenders from South Carolina and takes the ball all the way home for a miraculous touchdown

Also:  Testerverie is SAAAACCCKKKKKED! (lost count of how many times that game ...)

His call of Manning's QB sneak turned TD pass to Nash was  classic

Several times, including that Sugar Bowl: Jeff Smith, from MIIIIILAN Tennessee!  Always MIIIIILAN

His call of the team entering the field at the Sugar Bowl was classic as well (the crowd noise in the background was freaking AWESOME)
Another game at Neyland before running through the T: The VOLS are poised, prancing and prepared

However, other than "clad in BIG Orange" my favorite has to be Manning to Kent on Play. Number. ONE!

He had so many. I always liked his basketball axioms. On a free throw he would say: He shoots.....Bang.

I gotta say Manning to Kent is right up there for me.  So many from that one game!

"That touchdown pass is...... CAUUUUGHT!  I knew he had it.."

"Burgdorf is BLASTED, fumbles the football there is a scramble for it..."

Naked handoff...

The Miracle at South Bend is always memorable to me, too... "The kick is up it is..  good.  NO IT IS NO GOOD!"

Naked handoff, bootleg reverse
Nobody knows where the football is except Manning.
Where is he, in the ENDZONE!

I'll always remember the bammer game from 98 or 2000 (not sure of the year, but it was a home game). Leonard Scott returned a kickoff 100+ yards, but there was a flag on the play and everyone in the stadium thought it was coming back.

There was an endless wait for the ref's signal, and then:

JW: "The penalty is against.........AL!...A!...BAMA!"

You could almost hear the entire state going nuts.

Even his cadence and delivery of "Natural. Gas." made me interested in natural gas for a few moments.

It was Peerless Price vs Alabama in 1998.

The Volunteers are waiting, prancing, primed and prepared for that matchless, magical moment that Vol fans throughout the land emotionally anticipate, when the Big Orange race onto the greensward of Shields Watkins Field, and once more, it's Football Time in Tennessee!"
