Slightly hopeful....we are 45th in run D, an improvement over last year.  Of course, WVU didn't need to run, but yards per game of 4.37 is also 45th in the country.  That's the "good" news.

As expected, scoring D is 108th.  But hey, we were 109th last year.

Worst news....124th in pass efficiency D.  Next to last.  Not surprising, as we played perhaps the best pass offense in the country and started two true frosh in the defensive secondary.  We are going to take some lumps here.  I shudder at the four game stretch of Fromm, Tua, Stedham (well maybe a bit less with him), and Bentley.  Just have to hope they grow up really fast.

Thus Florida will be a very interesting test.  They are currently no. 2 in pass efficiency offense, but of course they played a glorified HS team.

I realize that the stats after one game are misleading in a lot of ways, and we are going to seriously pad them the next two weeks, but given our opponent I thought they were interesting.

Fun fact....November opponent Charlotte is rated no. 1 in run D after opening with Fordham

But on closer inspection, they had 16 rushing attempts that included 5 sacks and a fumbled snap, and when you take those out they only tried to run 10 times for 30 yards.
