If Sark ends up as the OC, what should I think?

You should go ahead and start thinking about who will be our next HC. Seriously.

Sark will be an abject disaster.

IMO we could do worse....He's been a HC at 2 programs...OC at USC...worked a year under Saban and been OC in the NFL for 2 years. Norm Chow was quoted last week we wouldn't go wrong hiring him as our OC. Other than that I have no idea.

The thing is, I'm not sure we COULD do worse. If Sark is the best we can get, I'd rather promote from within.

As bad as the OL stats were from post above, I don't think it matters who the OC is. If you are going to hire someone with a lot of baggage, might as well be Kiffin. He would do wonders with JG.

Respectfully, you don't know this. The NFL ain't college ball. Saban took him. The desire for infallible humans at UT hinders them, except in the case of Barnes 😛 I've seen Chaney mentioned. Let's just wait & see. I think Sark could help them though. Why not?

UT has never had a problem hiring infallible humans. Just look at the track record. Starting with Majors and work your way up. Pearl, Tyndall, Kiffin, Jones and the beat goes on.

I believe it is going to be Sark.  And as long as he has his issue under control I am fine with it.  He's a damned good offensive football coach.

And I would be surprised if there aren't a couple more openings on the staff when all is said and done.

Agree Herb.....Atlanta's offense is ranked 11th in the NFL and have had O players hurt. Some Falcon fans I've seen post say the defense is a lot more of the problem than offense.

As most of ya'll know, it would be highly hypocritical of me to judge someone for their drinking problem. That's not my problem with Sark.

My problem is that he just a bad football coach. And if you check his record, he's gotten progressively worse at every stop since he took the Washington HC job.

Look, it's Pruitt's ass on the line, so I want him to hire whomever he's comfortable with. And if it's Sark, I'll get behind it and hope I'm wrong.

But I'm not.

Falcons offense 11th with injuries, and Matt Ryan says Sark is calling good plays and good games, execution not there at critical times.  Course Ryan may just be toeing the company line, and Sark is definitely gonna be fired.  I do think their offense has been decent, but not elite as it has been in recent past, and I do fault Sark for not finding ways to get the ball in playmaker's hands.  But I definitely think he would be an upgrade, and also good QB coach.

Falcons just fired both coordinators (Hallelujah). So if Sark to UT is happening, it will likely be done by tomorrow.

Plus with his being fired there is no buyout required from his or UT's perspective.  Could be what both have been waiting for.

11th was a step back

If we take him I'll be surprised but I'll give him a shot. We have done so bad in the past, at times
