They do the dumbest things I've ever seen.

Stupid fouls, lazy passes, inexplicable turnovers. Meme Jackson dribbled off her own leg.

They play like they have no understanding of the basic fundamentals of basketball.

It's maddening. I've never cursed more at the television.

Holly said she is going back to basics this summer so I guess she hasn't been teaching basics. She really needs to step down.

Sucks....hopefully they can find her a position in the Athletic Dept. She has been a great Vol influence for a long time.

Vols fell way behind early - the biggest gap was 17 - then rallied in the third and fourth quarters and actually led 2-3 times before losing it at the end.  If they had come out playing like they did in the 3rd, they would have won.

Brent Hubbs posted a message on VQ that basically seemed to be saying that nothing will happen tomorrow, since the men play in the tourney, but that a coaching change is likely coming very soon.

I've followed VQ for quite a few years and can't remember him ever being so blunt in suggesting that a possible coaching change was coming. Then again, maybe I misinterpreted it.

You are correct
That was unusually blunt and specific
Holly is gone
I do hate it for her, she is Orange to the core, but she needs to go

There are reports that she will resign and take a job in the athletic department. That would be a good move, I think, but you can't pay her the same salary she's now making.

She's had 7 years and she can't get it done....When Pats players left that still had Pats mentality it's been downhill ever since. Yes Holly is Orange and given a lot but she's also been made a pretty wealthy women for not getting the job done.

Time for a change!

I hope the rumors of her taking a job in the AD are true, that would ease the transition.  But we clearly need a change.

I wonder who we will get though?  I like the Louisville coach, but he might be happy where he is.

Wow. That's a name out of the blue. Her resume' is impressive. I had read about her from time to time as she progressed through her career. I thought she wanted the next step to be as a coach of an NBA team.

would be as good as we could get....I don't know what NBA asst coaches make but I'm sure we'd have to up the pay from Holly quite a bit. There's the issue IMO....some of the top coaches like ND...Baylor...UConn...So. Carolina...Louisville and more are making well north of 1 million. Would UT be willing to pay that or will they bring in a hopeful up and comer?

There's one thing for sure....you could throw a dart at 98% of the D1 women's coaches and hire the one the dart hits and upgrade over Holly right off the bat. Hate it for her but she just isn't a HC on this level. You take a team full of All-Americans year after year and decline with them you simply can't coach.
