Maybe I'm way off base, but feels like the damage is done.
As a fan, I'm nearing the end of my patience, too. I love Rick Barnes but if he's that conflicted, I'd rather him go ahead and take the job and let us try to hire a coach who wants to be here. I realize that's unfair on some levels; most of us take days -- if not weeks -- to mull over career moves, but it's a fact of life in coaching. Once news leaks, and it leaks quickly, you have to have your decision made and be ready to jump.
I'm hoping the delay at this point means that Barnes and Fulmer are working out the fine details of a new contract.
