It is the first time an AP No. 1 Kentucky team has ever lost a home game to an unranked non-conference opponent (had been 39-0).
It's Evansville's first road win over an AP-ranked team in program history.

It was the officials. It had to be. UK has never actually lost a basketball game - they've only ever finished behind in games that were stolen by the zebras. |

Calipari put his usual "learning experience" spin on it. They will improve as the season goes on, but not as much as their fans hope or think, get a decently high tournament seeding, and then either fall short of the FF or get waxed badly in the semis. Rinse, wash and repeat. Cal's system has eroded as other top programs take one and dones. Looks to me like a slow spiral downward. Here's hoping Barnes can help accelerate it a bit. Wonder what the buyout is on a lifetime contract.  |

Don't look now but it has been a great week for Vols fans. Beat UK on Sat., LV's beat ND, Bama lost to LSU Sat, and UK basketball lost to Evansville. Can't have too many weeks like that. Oh yeah..Titans beat Chiefs. Who saw that coming? EDIT: Only bad thing this week Tiger High beat Oregon basketball last night. Their football team is playing well too. Hope Barnes has a blowout loss waiting to pin on lil Penny.
