Per Pete Thamel.

Considering who we're talking about (Cowbell U) and the debacle they made of their decision to replace Morehead, this is an absolute grand slam hire.

Agreed.  Wow.

Feels like there "could" be a shift in the SEC taking place.

The SEC has definitely added some big personalities to its coaching ranks. Do you imagine Leach will change his style from the way he coached at Wazzou and TT? Is the Big 12 style of play here to stay in the SEC. What will he do about the defensive side of the ball? He is a good coach. But how successful has he really been? His success will be determined by how well he can recruit skill positions at Starkville. I'm sure there of lots HS players that think his style of offense is great. But how will it look against physical defenses every week from SEC teams. He didn't face them too often in the PAC 12 or Big 12. His overall record is 139-90. 7-8 in Bowl games. He had one 11-2 season at Texas Tech and one at Washington State. He was usually 7-6 or 8-5 at Texas Tech. Has had some 8 and 9 win seasons at WSU. He has not won a conference title ever. He lost to Air Force in the Cheezit Bowl (you can't make this stuff up) this year 31-21, ending the season 6-7. Hopefully he can have some exciting SEC games with the Bulldogs. Usually, with offenses like he uses, the SEC teams would just run the ball and wear them out because they are more physical. Will be fun to see what he has for his SECw opponents. Egg Bowl could be a hoot.

Funny tweet:

"Mississippi State was reportedly linked to both Steve Sarkisian and Todd Grantham before hiring Mike Leach.

That’s like trying to decide between two different kinds of vanilla ice cream and then buying a grenade launcher."
