It's not going to happen.  There has never been a waiver given for a non graduate transfer within the SEC.

And it's the SEC schools who set the bylaw, not Greg Sankey.  Sankey is a putz, but it appears that he's just going along with the bylaws the schools have given him to enforce.

Kentucky and Ole Miss also have players who are in the same situation.

So couldn't the SEC have said "answer's gonna be no" earlier in the year?  They let the Mays family spend all that money and time on lawyers when the answer was gonna be no all along?

I think it has to go through the NCAA first.....and probably why the NCAA punted it to the SEC pretty quick knowing the SEC would not approve it. Not sure...but I wonder if Pruitt and Fulmer didn't know about the SEC transfer rule?

Just 2 years ago did the SEC approve 'Grad' transfers to transfer between conference schools and be able to play without sitting out a season....Prior to June 2018 even grad transfers had to sit out 1 season. The rule change allowed Kennedy (from Bama) to play from the get go.

That's a good point that was asked on another site. I wonder if he went to Summer school? If not why not if it counts?

Surely legal and/or compliance are involved. Im sure Ptuitt & Fulmer don't know all the details of the rules. There seems to be at least some ambiguity. They tried. Apparently the kid wanted to transfer. Next year for him, or he goes pro. I like Jerome Carvin. Let's go!

THIS ^  is the point. If he knew all along that the rule wasn't going to let him approve these guys, why didn't he say so as soon as they applied? Either he is incompetent and didn't know the rules or there are shenanigans going on. I always suspect the latter.
