CMR = Very good man, very mediocre football coach.  That is not debatable.  His record proves it.

but gee wally.........don't you vols get tired of agreeing with each other all the time? Just stirring the pot a little. After all there's still like 60+ days before KO.

We don't agree all the time. It's OK for people to disagree. I don't like people intentionally stirring the pot with the intention of riling up the natives, though.

Read your original subject line and post and imagine if a Vol went and posted the same thing on the Dawg board of your choice.

It was a legitimate question with no disrespect meant at all. Kiffin has has made quite an impact since becoming UT's HC occasionally stepping on some toes. I understand CLK is just seeking some exposure for UT and himself but some of his tactics have drawn criticism throughout the conference to say the least.
The University of Tenn is not void of tradition and Kiffins antics seem out of place in Knoxville. LK has assembled a very good staff and recruited a a top 10 class during his brief reign in Tenn. but the real question is can he coach....and can he win? There's definitely no shortage of knowledge on his staff so maybe he won't be the clown he is off the field......on the field.

So 82-22 with 2 SEC titles in 8 seasons is mediocre? Georgia happens to play in the same conference that has produced the Natl. Champion 4 of the last 6 years........his "record" certainly doesn't say mediocre. You don't truely believe that do you? That is an utterly asinine statement.

His record has been seriously padded by a very weak out of conference schedule during his tenure.  Even a blinded UGA fan like yourself has to be able to see that.  Yeah, I know all about what conference UGA plays in, Pup.  Georgia didn't invent the SEC, you know.   CMR has done less with more more times than even our former coach did, which is pretty sad, if you really think about it.

Like I said - terrific human being, mediocre football coach.

Please, dude. Your intention was not to debate Kiffin's worth... it was either to incite or to denigrate.

your entitled to your own opinion but regardless of the OC schedule Richt has a 49-18 SEC record over 8 seasons with 12 of those losses coming against   Fla (6) Tenn (3) and Auburn (3)............plus he has 2 SEC titles in 3 trips to Atlanta...............anything but mediocre.

Well do it then instead of talkin about it and see.  You come on a Vol Board and ask "If we are embarassed yet, and then claim that Kiffin offered a 13 yr old a football scholarship", and now we are looking through "orange colored glasses"?
The guys/gals are right about your coach.......He is mediocre at best and has not won a National Championship so when he does that he will move up a notch.

CMR = Very good man, very mediocre football coach.  That is not debatable.  His record proves it.

Hmm, well I'll give him above average marks.  Problem is, that doesn't cut it these days.  His biggest problem IMO is a glaring inadequacy in his staff at the DC position.  Either that, or Van Gorder was the real power in Athens until he left.

It's hard for me to see an upside for the dawgs.  They had a very talented team last year on the offensive side, perhaps enough so to overcome some defensive liabilities.  Didn't get it done.  Now they rebuild their offense, and on D, IMO, their problems start and end with a DC that is less than mediocre IMO (downright BAD!)

I just can't see them going anywhere but a continued slide into mediocrity and a slow death for CMR.  Just MO.

all of the players will tell you it wasn't Martinez' fault but their inabilities to execute. we suffered so many injuries that we couldn't even have contact at practice. we lost arguably 3 of our top 10 players before the season began. combine that with a lack of leadership and no wonder we failed to contend. The jurys still out on our DC this year should confirm or deny his true worth. And I'm not buying the Richt/Uga in decline thing......you vols should know how the stars have to align correctly to win the NC......just hasn't happened for CMR.
