I hesitate to even respond to one of your posts, but IMO Barnhart is right. Beyond what he said, if every coach at a BCS school was fired when he didn't win a championship for the length of Richt's tenure (8 years) then you're talking about the firing of some 60 coaches in short period of time-- a rate upwards of 80% of coaching jobs. I understand they make a lot of money, but a firing rate above 80% based on performance would only result from an absurd standard. UGA was in the conversation multiple times in those 8 years and for me that is good enough, even for a high-prestige school in the nation's best conference. Even a coach inheriting a phenomenal situation shouldn't be held to that kind of standard (see Nebraska post-Osborne). I understand why UGA people are antsy and I think that's okay. They have lofty goals and lofty goals are okay-- as long as you don't go firing someone every time he falls short of them.

With that said, I don't intend to respond to another of your posts unless something changes. The one below re: injuries is one of the most painful threads I've ever read and I hate that it went on so long.

If Richt can't win a national championship at UGA, he can't win one anywhere.  He won't, becasue He does less with more than any coach in college football.  I've said it over and over, 2004 was one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the SEC, it was as bad as Fulmers 99 fiasco.

Here's my retort......................................................
Blah............Blah............Blah..............Blah................Blah.............Blah...................Blah................Blah............

Go and talk UGA/Richt up with your fellow UGA fans, cause you must have shizzle for BRAINS to keep posting this garbage on the Best VOLUNTEER BOARD........like we are going to agree how great UGA/Richt is, and how smart you are.

What Volmeister said.  Richt has done less with more than just about any other coach at any other big time program.  He joins our ex coach and Mack Brown, among others, in that fraternity, in my opinion.  The difference is that unlike the other two, Richt hasn't even smelled a national championship, much less won one.  Both of the other two have one, but should have had at least one more with the talent level they had.  Richt has had equally good talent, but hasn't been able to get near a national championship game.

By the way, Georgia is a Nike school, you know.

i'm sorry you feel that way clockwork. Think of me as an outside entity who is here to keep you Vol's reality in check. I'm not here to flame or incite anything but merely to give the vol nation a different perspective on the world of SEC football that you only view through those orange-colored glasses.

It's easy to say that when your favorite coach doesn't have one.  That sounds like just another excuse to me.

Granny and I were the only ones posting there each morning and that was only for the Good Morning post. There was no need to keep it up just for that. And with Facebook, Granny can say Good Morning to a lot more people.
