1  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The Braves now trade Shelby Miller to the DBacks on: December 09, 2015, 04:48:06 EST
the worst trade of the Cardinals in a while-Miller was missed in STL.
2  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Apparently we are not the only defense that can't get Mayfield on the ground on: November 18, 2015, 06:42:14 EST
My biggest concerns:

1. Senior Night
2. CGP's last home game

I believe Miz will get a lead and hold it to the half, we will make adjustments and they will not be as wired as they were at the start and we break them down and win a close one in the 4th qtr.  that said it seems to be the story of this year.  in every game and comes down to a few players making a few plays.

both our last two games are going to be challenges and I honestly believe it will take full 4 qtrs to decide them both.  hope it is KY like but feel like it will be more UGA/FL like.
3  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Not sold on McIllwain yet on: November 18, 2015, 06:36:18 EST
only knew of CJM from bammer and CSU he did a solid job at CSU.

once he was hired at UF I started to pay attention-he comes across in interviews as a bit off center but he is loved by his players, understands how to put guys in positions that will maximize their ability and transparently lets the Defensive Coaches run the defense.

The O is going to be better year over year imo.

The D-that is the main issue he will face once he starts to get "his guys" into the program-will he be offensive driven or will he have balance?  time will tell but dang he sure has surprised the heck out of me.

still steamed over his post game after our Loss--looking back you think what a goof ball but CJM has done a COY job
4  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: If true, why does Seybold still have a job? on: November 18, 2015, 06:30:39 EST
did not know we had such an expert on campus, why not have him in charge of the field.

not a rocket scientist but heck dude would get double the retirement funds added and might even be cheaper annually on the payroll not to mention the added cost of upkeep.

or

go to field turf-1 million would get that down to low to no annual maintenance cost.  cut out the paint cost cause it is built in the turf, drainage not an issue with the base and playing conditions improved from the jump.

I know people want to play on grass but almost every high school has the pro player turf and it is 1000 x's better now than AstroTurf of old.
5  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Chances of winning out are now on: November 11, 2015, 08:56:14 EST
good Point, home field does make some difference.
6  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Chances of winning out are now on: November 11, 2015, 08:28:01 EST
I believe that Mizzou's defense is good but I also believe that Vandy has come on strong as of late on D and that said I think the odds should be switched between Mizzou and Vandy.  jmo

I believe we win out as well but just never know since we have never beat Mizzou.
7  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Anyone watch/hear the press conference? on: November 09, 2015, 04:38:16 EST
I said it when Dooley was the coach, and I'll say it again now: Butch won't do himself any favors by sniping at the media. Those guys on the UT beat help influence fan opinion as much as anyone, even without necessarily trying to. When you're Nick Saban and you have plenty of collateral, you can afford to take little stabs at the press here and there. But when you're still trying to build your resume, it helps to have those guys in your hip pocket.

What Butch doesn't seem to get is that it isn't reporters' jobs to be "positive." It's the reporters' jobs to inform. They're reporters, not cheerleaders. If Butch wants PR, that's the job of the journalists who are hired by the UTAD to contribute to UTSports.com, and they do a good job at that.

well you know it was staged, he actually said he has been waiting for     and stops to just rant a litte. but 100% agree answer the question and move on it is the post game.  actually did not see anything wrong with Brent's question or CBJ direct answer it was more in the" listen I aint going to apologize for winning" seems like nothing good comes out of that type of quote.
8  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So, the rat bastard tiglets are #1 in the first playoff poll? on: November 04, 2015, 02:55:30 EST
Not saying FSU will win but until tiglets beat them the mojo of the Noles is alive and well.
9  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The silver lining to UGA losing yesterday on: November 02, 2015, 02:43:36 EST
He was an alum b4 the U days, and I don't see him and his ways working in Miami-the above noted outside forces would work hard on his religion and his ways.  that is not a good fit.

I think he is a very good man, solid coach but has been snake bitten-the chain of coaches at UGA after Dooley seem to all be snake bitten if you think about it.  CMR is about as good as it gets from a person stand point and again he is not a bad coach just can't seem to get the dang thing over the hump.

but if he goes-that would open door for the Aubie D cord CWM and or might even put Def Cord at bammer on the board-CKS.  Think they would both want the UGA post over anything on the market.
10  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The silver lining to UGA losing yesterday on: November 02, 2015, 01:19:41 EST
in all seriousness, Miami would be tough so why would CMR not look at USCjr if offered.  He could do a solid job there imo and would still be in the SEC.  not saying he is in the running for either but USCjr has more imo than the U at this time.  The U has bigger upside but who knows when they will be able to get there.
11  Sports / VTTW Message Board / ? on ejections on: November 01, 2015, 03:46:49 EST
Can you appeal the ejection and get it removed after the game to the SEC office?  that did not look like an illegal hit on the replay or live speed and actually was a catch and fumble.

I don't really understand the rule if that is not a legal hit. tia

13  Sports / VTTW Message Board / new OC at Detroit Lions...Jim Bob Cooter on: October 27, 2015, 06:09:40 EDT
wow was reading he is very bright up and coming coach.  Is this the back up Jim Bob Cooter from the Vols?  could not confirm from the story and it was fairly hot off press...

16  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: How did Tiger High get the talent they have? Are the using leftover Calipari on: October 22, 2015, 05:03:36 EDT
Remember this, 4 plays go the Vols way (not coaching-but players executing) and this is a 5-1 or maybe 6-0 Vol team as well.  The talent is on the Hill, Memphis might have developed theirs but we have to fine tune ours.  It is coming I just know it, hope it arrives soon as in Saturday.
17  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Read an article on Pitt.... Peterman is playing well. I hope he does on: October 21, 2015, 03:48:30 EDT
sometimes a change in the venue is worth more than any coach.  Wish him the best-from what I saw of him he was a good character person and in life that goes a long way.
18  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The puppies look whipped on: October 20, 2015, 02:40:21 EDT
never in the life of the Mizzou Tigers would I have thought we would not have W vs them.  That said I agree that is a game we need to start a winning streak.  Prior to joining the SEC it was common conversation that the Tigers never made half time adjustments.  well since joining the SEC East they seem to make the right adjustments against the Vols.  we played them very tight 1st half and lost in 2nd half.  Year 2 was home game for MU and it was not a game from the start Think that game Dobbs had some Freshman moments-remember one long scramble that resulted in him not going out of bounds and created a fumble that stopped the best drive of the night.  then the year 3 game-we smashed them first half dominated held under like 25 yards offense in the first half to have them come out the second half and dominate and put into OT to win.  I want to state that Mizzou has a solid defense, they are a hot mess on the offensive side of the ball and the young QB will be good but he is not at this time.  I think if we play our game we should get a W.

that said this week is the most important week for the Vols-one game at a time.  will the bye week help?  will the momentum of getting a W against UGA be a boost?  will bammer have that let down they seem to have after a big win?  UGA big win-next week struggled with MTSU, aTm big win....see if we can make some ground up.  We have talent we have skill and if we can play error free I will take the Vols everytime.
19  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The puppies look whipped on: October 19, 2015, 03:32:28 EDT
I live outside St Louis, man I just want to beat them and every year so far it has been just well another year of listening to how big and bad the SEC East was and that yada yada yada on the Vols if we can get the W on Mizzou i will be satisfied.  Sorry but living in their back yard makes it very difficult.  Even today the Soccer team beat the lady Vols and at Volleyball game tonight some MU fan had to bring it up, of course my power T on the Truck and the T hat gave me no shot at anything...lol   this is the year we break through on the tigers.
20  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Coaches Decisions-thoughts on: October 18, 2015, 05:44:46 EDT
Ole Miss game- CHF uses one of this best defenders on O-concussion and out early and they lose the game

LSU - FLA  fake FG--bobbled and successful result  late in game to give the Tigers the W

MSU - UM  wow the Big 10 refs were horrid but look that the 4th downs CMD went for and did not make, Look at the Goal line play selection and how it turned out and lastly look at CJH with all his support and calling 2 time outs to discuss all the options and make the decision to punt-result-one of the lowest probability outcomes happened.

my thoughts-in all the games the coaches thought they were doing right in this day an age it is very easy to second guess any of the outcomes with twitter, msg boards, fb, snap chat, etc so in the games I watched yesterday I thought to myself-how our fans react to the decisions and how easy it is to get lost in the moment.  Every weekend there are numerous decisions that determine the outcome-heck look at MU - UGA 9-6 battle royal of D and how that one and the USCjr-Vandy ended just some very tight games.

that kicker for big blue was doing what coach asked he tried to catch and then he was trying to kick and these talking heads want to say he threw the ball--watch the dang play he was trying to kick the ball.  besides that no matter how many times in practice you try to practice a bad snap nothing is like the real game speed-situation and reaction.  I hope the kid pulls out of it, and then on the flip side to have dislocated / broken hip on the return for the winning team wow just some of the crazy things that happened.  What a great weekend for some unbelievable finishes.
21  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: don't look now put Tiger HIgh is pounding Ole Miss.... on: October 17, 2015, 10:30:37 EDT
worst part of watching that game was the flashback, dude was down on the kr.  still can't believe that game was in the southwest endzone corner watching with a ton of tiger high fans...one of the longest days of the year.  met my parents and had dinner out east of town and then drove to St Louis.  wow what a long day that was-had plans to spend night but did not enjoy the day so came home early.
22  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Does anyone here bye into the Michigan hype. Do you think they are this good on: October 15, 2015, 01:17:57 EDT
that and the only L so far is to the Utah U's and they are one of the better teams it appears.  just sayin
23  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Does anyone here bye into the Michigan hype. Do you think they are this good on: October 15, 2015, 01:15:18 EDT
I believe they will be undefeated in big10 and have a major show down with osu.  they look like a completely different team with players buying in and doing their jobs.  apparently the cub-bards were not as bare as all thought and the difference is the NFL type coaching idk if that makes as big a difference or not but it sure seems that way for big blue.
24  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: saban the cheating belichick disciple? on: October 15, 2015, 01:13:15 EDT
the first video he is singling something and in 2nd video interesting enough cbb said / noted he discussed with commish.  but it is bammer and they never get the big hammer put on them.
25  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Does anyone realize? on: October 15, 2015, 01:06:55 EDT
figured 1 of the 2 OU or FL we win, serious and the FG in UF was just outside-make a play on D and mute point.

Arky was a game that did not fit us with the down hill running and the ol that was older-bigger and OL loves to run block-bend the facemask so to speak.

I still think we are closer to 1 more win and that would have me as happy.
