Post by: droner on March 10, 2013, 11:02:14 EDT
They get in with 20 losses.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Lunardi on ESPN said the last 4 in would be Temple,Virginia,Boise State and Tennessee. At least He seems to thing Tennessee will get in now   Jerry Palm of CBS Sports Has Tennessee playing a 12th seed game with Iowa State in Dayton on March 19-20

IMO it's total 100% bullcrap for a conference tourny winner like this to get an automatic NCAA bid..It knocks teams that are way more deserving out. It happens every year.

Georgia State in 1991 had a worse record, they had like 6 regular season wins and won Their Tournament. ESPN doesn't do their research

As long as they come from a one-bid league, it doesn't hurt.  In fact, it could help.  If we make it in, and they end up in our region, it might bump us up a seed line.

I think it's fine. There are 68 teams in the field. If you're one of the ones that is knocked out you probably aren't in the position to be griping about the winner of a lowly conference getting in. I love the fact that NCAA D-I basketball is a sport where every single team in the nation has a theoretical chance to make it to the Big Dance and win a national championship after the regular season is complete. (Well, that isn't technically true since some conferences don't include all their teams in the conference tournament...but still...)
