winning side of one of those games!!! The best thing I can say about our guys is they are tenacious! I was really getting frustrated in the first half with Dobbs actually making some good throws and our guys were dropping them and then the Hurd fumble I just shook my head and told my wife that maybe this is the way we finally win....come from behind with everything going against us, I didn't really expect it but it just appeared that nothing was going our way. Dobbs took over in the second half....no one can question his heart, his arm yes, but not his heart!

Looking ahead....our DBs are not good, Mosley in particular gets burnt anytime someone wants to go deep, and apparently none of them can catch a ball (I think I recall around 5 would be INTs dropped) and tackling remains ugly. I still am not inspired with play calling as a whole, we just continued to throw screens when they were going no where and nearly had a couple picked. Let's all hope Dobbs can continue to work his magic because it looks like we're gonna need him to throw for 300 and run for 120 every game. Gutsy win and congratulations to all (what about Jones and Hall???).  GO BIG ORANGE!!!

I got to disagree Volman. You say they were tenacious. They were. But why not in the previous 5 games. Why now, why not then? They could be 6-0. Why did they not play like that against OU, UF And Arky? Good questions to ask the coach.

8 points from being 6-0. One play on offense or defense in those games and what could have been.

Seems like the last several years we've recruited 127 DBs and we still can't even get to above average back there......Bama will go deep on us, we better be ready.

Lots of complaints about our secondary against uga, and not without justification.  But by far our best DB is Sutton, who, if you believe him, Danielson said during the broadcast had not given up a a TD this year.  That changed.  Uga had an almost perfect play right over Sutton on their first offensive TD.  Threw a jump ball that their best WR made a great catch on.  Not much anyone can do about that.

And on their last play, a DB (LB?) named Smith was torched and the much-maligned Randolph made the play.

So not all is a failure back there.  What is true is that we lack any corner with a dam other than Sutton.  Safety play with Randolph and McNeil is, IMO at least competent.

It's unclear to me if Kelly is a nickel or spells McNeil, but he seems okay also.

We just need another CB or two, IMO.

We have to get much better in the middle too. Safeties having to play run support and that's also hurting us in the passing game.

It is just hard to explain this season. I know we don't want to hear it, but I don't think UGa was near as good as their hype. Who had they beat up until Bama? It is still a good win. Just makes you wonder about the three losses we have. I think UGa's D is suspect.

uga hadn't beaten anyone worth a dam until bammer.

As it turns out, Ole Miss, who was no. 3 in the country, apparently just got lucky against bammer and lost to

Florida, who supposedly wasn't worth a dam when they played and beat us, but is now in the top ten (which likely changes without Grier)

That's CFB.  There are only 12 games a year, and every single one of them influences opinions and perceptions.  It's not a very big sample, so every game matters. CFB is kind of unique in that way.

It seems like this is stuff you should already know though.

and Fla losses more on the coaching staff....and on Dobbs, he didn't play all out in those other two games, I'm not sure if that was by design or if he was reticent about taking over the game like he did Sat. We've played good enough to be undefeated (it's not like we were dominated), we just didn't make a play here and there when the other guys did. We still need more play makers, on both sides of the ball, and hopefully recruiting will supply them.

I think recruiting is the best part of Jones coaching repertoire. I think he will get the talent. Hopefully the tenacity will be an every game occurrence from here on out.
